The list of horror stories I will tell my stupid teenage son (in a few years, when he becomes a teenager and stupid) is growing.

Is it my imagination or did Tenn post something from another thread on here to just badger Paul? I mean, I'm all for badgering Paul - but that just seems extra-low-class.

If you mention a school and a gun in the same sentence you're at least going to get on a terror watch list. This is part of a government-wide, carefully orchestrated campaign to make people fear guns, ostracize gun owners, and make gun ownership "uncool". It's not unreasonable if you know what the plan is, it's not unreasonable if you get that it has nothing to do with a genuine threat to public safety, but is instead a plan to "brainwash people on guns". www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/03/18/Holder-Fight-Guns-Like-Cigarettes

The boy has a bond hearing scheduled for July 16. His attorney says the purported beatings and mistreatment while jailed will be discussed at the hearing. I've read the boy is currently on suicide watch.

No, thyme, it's not your imagination and you're correct. Had paul not decided to not only copy Tenn's post but emphasize it in bold red font, I'd remove it. Seems a bit anti-climactic at this point, however. mmhmm, Administrator

I wish you would remove both of their posts. They aren't as related as Tenn thinks.

This can make him, or it can break him. It's a darned hard lesson, but it could prove very beneficial if he's able to man-up. It's going to be up to his parents to help him make lemonade with these lemons.

It seems paul felt it was related enough to emphasize it. I'll leave it as is, as it would be paul's call if there were a question. mmhmm, Administrator

Wait! Duh! Call it a senior moment, thyme. I'm going to move both those posts to the thread in which they belong. Thanks for the heads up, by the way. mmhmm, Administrator There! *dusts off her hands and goes back to herding cats*

Honestly, unless there are other signs of dangerous activity from him, or other questionable behavior in his life up until this point, I hope he is found not guilty. Even if they give him time served, every job for the rest of his life will exclude him because he will answer "Yes" to the "Have you ever been convicted of a felony?" question. Even if you got an understanding employer who asked what the felony was - as maybe they can live with a 10 year old DUI, with no further troubles, or something like that, his answer is "I was convicted of making a terrorist threat against a classroom full of kindergartners." Would you hire him? Even if he was 50 and it happened 30 years before - I would think twice. My company would not allow it.

I vote stupid kid. He was trash talking after playing a video game. He went over the top a bit, but he didn't threaten a particular school, hoard guns, check out it's security, or anything even remotely similar. He made an incredibly crude joke to get a rise out of people. If he faces charges for that it would be a mockery of justice.
And terrorism charges... really? What terrorist group or cause is the kid affiliated with? Even if he followed through on his "threat" what terrorist group would he be doing it for? None whatsoever. If anything it would the actions of one deranged kid, and not a political statement, not for Allah, not to spite the great devil, or whatever else. Our over reaction to one horrible event is getting fucking ridiculous.

DF and I talk about it. One of DDs friends has emigrated to Australia and hopes to meet someone there and stay permanently. So sad IMHO. But understandable. My aunt and uncle are looking into it but don't have the half million dollars required to be there. See, unlike this country, you can't just move and live off the taxpayers, you have to prove you can self support and not become a public charge or burden.
