Published June 17, 2013 | FoxNews.com advertisement A group of 7-Eleven store in New York and Virginia were taken into custody by federal authorities Monday as part of a criminal immigrant employment investigation that the Department of Homeland Security is describing as one of the largest in history. Fourteen stores were raided Monday and nine individuals -- eight men and one woman -- were indicted on allegations that store owners helped smuggle workers into the U.S. The immigrant workers are believed to be from Pakistan, the Associated Press reports. The New York raids were centered on Long Island. The nine were charged with conspiring to commit wire fraud, stealing identities, and concealing and harboring dozens of illegal immigrants, according to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement statement. The workers were equipped with more than 20 identities stolen from U.S. citizens, were housed at properties owned by the store owners and had large portions of their wages stolen by managers, the statement also alleges. On CNBC today the Prosecutor stated the owners made $182,000,000 off of this operation. Yes. Millions. Hard to fathom that kind of money, kind of like printing their own winning lottery ticket. CNBC also stated Phillipino immigrants were also victims. Some victims were working 100 hours a week, way below minimum wage, and paying rent and food bills to the store owners

wow. spectacular bust. who got them? DHS or INS? "According to the Department of Homeland Security, the case announced today constitutes the largest criminal immigration forfeiture in its history," the ICE statement said. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are now inspecting 30 7-Eleven franchise stores across the country for similar human smuggling infractions. Sounds like it was a cooperative effort. Probably broke a lot of Federal privacy laws, don'cha think?

I am still trying to find out how they scammed that much money. I honestly believe the Feds missed a "." in the number, or have too many zeroes.

182 million bucks is a lot of dough for 20 or so workers......7Eleven must pay a lot more than Walmart......I'm thinking a recheck of the numbers is in order.

I questioned the dollar amount when I posted the article. I also see there is wire fraud involved. I would think there was probably a lot of illegal overseas money wire transfers which had nothing to do with the illegal immigrants.
