What do you do when you have the house to yourself?

LOL - my kids went to sleepaway camp yesterday.  I have no idea what we are going to do with 6 nights of no kids.  All I know for sure is that I didn't cook last night, and I'm not cooking tonight.  If I play my cards right, I won't cook at all this week.

I generally eat cookies for dinner and watch whatever I want to watch on the tele.  Or, ill leave the tele off and have quiet. Sports are always on when DH is home.

I use the TV and the iPad AT THE SAME TIME.  

We generally have a rule in our house that you can't bogart all the electronics, with a max of 1 each.  But with no one home - ha ha!  All of them are on and I control them all.

I usually throw on some jazz, watch the sunset, and pet whichever kitty gets to my lap first.

I don't think I have ever had the house to myself at night...

But I would get in my comfy jammies, get a bottle of wine with a crazy straw, order pizza, and watch movies that I like on Netflix.

The beauty of your situation is that you can do anything you want!  Eat crap, get drunk, yell and sing at the top of your lungs, fart and scratch yourself, run around naked, take a bubble bath, play games on the computer, have friends come over and play cards or just drink wine and talk adult talk, eat cake... the possibilities are endless!

I eat in front of the TV and watch Breaking Bad.  I only watch it when DS is not anywhere around.

I watch Dance Moms, and then read a summary of a documentary about mid-east politics, and when my husband comes home, I tell him about the documentary.

I put the upstairs and downstairs tv on the same channel, so I can watch my show where ever I am at.  (DH and I don't usually watch the same shows - and he doesn't like tv's on in a room I'm not in...)

I had this situation recently when DH went to Phoenix.  I had him make me a pitcher of mimosas before he left in honor of Mimosa Monday.  It's not a family tradition, but it should be in the summers when I don't work.

He said, "You really are going to drink all day to celebrate me being gone?"

I said, "Something like that.  But you can stay and make two pitchers."

BTW Thyme, I've been thinking about you. I'm reading Thomas Friedman's (famous for the World is Flat) "From Beriut to Jerusalem". It's a good read even if you only make it through the Prologue!

I watch whatever I want to on TV and/or the computer - particularly YouTube videos that DH would make fun of me for watching (repeats of my favorite past American Idol performances...stuff like that). I also save up anything that might make my cry and only watch the super sentimental stuff while DH is out of the house. And I most definitely eat whatever I want for dinner - usually mac n cheese, Chipotle, or cheese/bread/wine.

I crank up the stereo to stadium levels & clean house.  Ok, so I do that when kiddo is home too, but my house stays clean when it's just me.  Kiddo seems to have a warped sense of the exact moment I have the kitchen clean, dishwasher running & just mopped the kitchen floor.  That's always the moment he'll suddenly bring up every dirty dish from his room.
