Sorry I've been absent...have gotten lots of yard work done. And FYI, I have a 5 (+/-) acre front yard. Picking fresh maters too! YUMMMMM!

This week Kroger reports. Should report strong earnings, but I think if they disappoint, or just hit consensus numbers, the market will punish them. They have been on a strong run lately, so with the markets being so skittish and not knowing which way they want to run, I guess, I will short it this week. KR, short. I would not do this in my real investing world, as I hold this stock in high regard.

Will go with VALE (Long) for this week. Believe it is a value stock at current price for long term investors. May not "pop" anytime soon, but should likely grow and prosper with worldwide recovery over the next few years.

BEAT (long) CardioNet Inc.
This may not be a good horse to saddle for a 5 day race; but it's my pick. They have entered into an agreement with UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company, for a 3 yr. contract. Agreement effective July 1. United Healthcare provides coverages to more than 70 million members in the U.S. Take a look at the graph ( just for this week ). The stock closed Friday at $5.77

Long SPPI (Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Inc. - Biotechnology)
This is from my screen that searches for and earnings beat in the most recent quarter and recent upward revisions in estimates. One thing I don't like about this company is they had estimates that were revised down then back up they did meet the parameters of the screen. Also after the stock falling from a 52 week high of $17.48 to a 52 week low of $6.92 the stock price has recovered to $8.24.

Stupid horse, jumped with a fast break to start and then fell on his azz. So much for the dart board picks.

The Benchmark appears a tough taskmaster (at least for today).

I see no one wants my spot! But there is a good way to look at what the market did today....it's a SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what we women look for, sales! This is the time to get those bargains you have been looking at but really didn't want to spend as much as the original price! My bargain will be my pick for the week. Mod, I know you won't "see" this for a day or two, but hope your surgery went well. Also see you have had a birthday...hope it was a good one! If you aren't careful, I'll catch up with you!

Congrats, 2&10, a good winning pick for this week, withVB and architecto holding Place and Show. Ooh, kadee .... You kept running the wrong way, could'a, should'a gone short. Eye op went well... now just a lot of eye drops and two weeks in the healing process. Next eye coming up o/a 7/9. By end of July should be in top healed up condition. It's all a matter of being careful and protecting the eyes until fully healed.

I'm sorry to all the longs to win with a short position. I just didn't "feel good" about the market.
