I have been having a hard time sleeping....taking me 2-3 hours to fall asleep and I then I get to sleep for about an hour before the baby wants to be fed again....last night I had 3 glasses of wine (celebration dinner!) and I might have gotten a grand total of 3-4 hours all night...and I'm a "need my sleep" kind of gal. Thinking the alcohol did not help and DH said he'd be willing to take all the kid feedings tonight (first time ever!) so I might take some sleeping pills and conk out. So, no wine for me today.

It's the end of a "Can't do anything right" week. Hoping no fires pop up at work today.

Who's box? Sarah Lee's? For a minute I thought of Sandra Lee, the loopy blonde on the Food TV network. She does that Semi-Homemade "cooking" show and she sleeps with the governor of New York. Not going near her box.

Years ago Sarah Lee used to have Brownies, banana and chocolate cakes in the freezer section. You could eat (after thawing) those right out of the box/tin serving pan. The banana cake was real good.

I'm pulling a Doxie and picking up Chinese food on the way home because I'm too lazy to cook, and DH (who usually does the cooking) has been working his butt off until 7-8 every night this week building bookcases for the baby's room, so probably deserves a night off. Other than that, not a bad week - things at work have been almost suspiciously quiet.
Monkey, hope you get some sleep tonight!

Actually, those cakes and brownies were at their best when they were still a bit cold. Not quite frozen, but still cold. Especially the chocolate icing. It was like candy when it was cold.

I still eat the Pepridge Farms cakes that way - slightly cold.

Let's see .. my week, hubby is having withdrawls from finally weaning off narcotic pain meds after being on them for 18 months. I've gotten yelled by a director of public work's at city that a contractor is not putting in things according to my plans. I realized there was discrepancy in said plans and when I reissued the plans I got a call from the contractor flipping out because he had 80% of the project installed. When I mentioned that he shouldn't be installing the pipe yet because he doesn't have a DNR permit, he blamed me and said it was my fault and I flipped out on him and said I had been working since August to get the damn permit. He backed off, but it was not my finest moment. I've worked late all week, taken work home, today I came in early so I could get a set of plans ready for my boss to take to a 10 am meeting. I am now a week late on another project that I actually want to work and don't have a clue when I'm going to be done with it...this is after the client complimented me to my boss and told me what a great job I was doing....and now I'm way late. Awesome. So, I'll be working this weekend and getting the house ready to have 15 family members come visit the next weekend. Oh and JCP sent me an email about taking a second look at a shirt I was looking at yesterday. ACK! DH and I share an email account and the shirt was for him for father's day. I know not a great gift, but still WTF is that all about. Yeah, I need wine. Lots and lots of wine .. and cake ... and ice cream.

Ooohhh. I loved those Pepperidge farm cakes. I think they still make them. Yellow cake with coconut was my favorite. And I agree, not fully defrosted.... Muttley, sounds like a hellish week....get yourself some wine and cake. I just had a diaper with poop that came out of the top...if that helps you feel any better.....

So my therapist had me do this thing to clear my mind but it can also work for falling asleep to - name a band that starts with letter A, then B, then C, etc to Z. I'll do it with Basketball, baseball or football players, or teams. Really you can take any topic you want. But I never get through to Z before I fall asleep. Also resting your forehead on firm surface will help clear your mind. I hope you get some rest tonight. DH and I take shifts. He takes the monitor until the first feeding and then I take it after that - or when she was a newborn he took her until 2 am and then I take her from 2am until 6am. Just some ideas. Feel free to ignore.

Not really...only because I know I'll have at least one of those myself this weekend. But at the moment I still have sense of humor ... for the moment. How old is your baby?

That do still make them, and even go on sale around $2.49 every once in awhile... I was planning to start back on WW this weekend, but somehow a 12 pack of mini red velvet cupcakes made their way into my shopping cart this afternoon...

With all of us being sick on and off for the past 3 months, it's been a cake day for the last 100 days. I think I need to juice for a few days or go on the Paleo Diet or something.

Mutely....I play that game too....it's not been working though. I'm happy to hear a therapist recommended it though. I told DH about it and he thought I was weird.
I've been doing all overnights since I am not working and DH is. Once I go back to work, we will prob split like you do.
Our munchkin is 6 weeks... Yours?

5 months as of yesterday. I'm not sure where the time has gone. She's wiggling forward on her belly and rolling everywhere and she is trying so hard to sit up. As for the nights, we have some good nights - last night, she was only up once and some bad nights - Wednesday night she was up 3 times. She is a much easier baby than DS. I think I've only cried a half dozen times over her not sleeping....DS it was pretty much a nightly event from birth to 5 months.

Dammit. Now *I* want cake. In fact, I am a diehard cake girl. I will take cake over wine or chocolate or ice cream or cookies. And not only do I want cake now, I want one of those Sarah Lee cakes. They were awesome. The Pepperidge Farm ones aren't nearly as good as they used to be. They'll do in a pinch, but they gone toward more artificial ingredients. Because of DSs' food allergies, I have to eat the PF cake outside. We are getting the tropical rains that are moving up the coast. Do you think my neighbors will talk about me if I go in the garage to eat an entire PF cake?

Not if you bring a bottle of wine with you!! I so like your user name. It reminds me of this KMart commercial. I chuckle each time at the mustard scene:
