Like I said in the thread about the baker who refused her services to a gay couple: anti-discrimination laws are themselves discriminatory....where are the state prosecutors forcing banks to provide their services equally like they are bakeries? www.nbcnews.com/business/banks-porn-stars-your-moneys-not-welcome-1C9967366#banks-porn-stars-your-moneys-not-welcome-1C9967366Banks to porn stars: Your money's not welcome Preston recently opened a business account with City National Bank in Los Angeles. When she went to deposit checks into the account days later, however, she was told it had been shut down, due to "compliance issues". She found the manager she had originally worked with and asked what had happened. The bank, she was told, was worried about the Webcam shows she had on her site and had revoked the account.

First...why is the bank watching her webcam shows...and
Second....bank account information is generally not given out to other account holders so how would other customers even know that a "webcam girl" had an account...other than actually having seen her in one of her videos? If that's the case I seriously doubt they care that they are banking at the same place as her.

Doesn't she first have to file suit to get the state prosecutors' attention? No mention she has filed a lawsuit. Also-what type of discrimination is she a victim of? California's Unruh Civil Rights Act (commerce/business discrimination) states businesses may not discriminate based upon a person's sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, medical condition, marital status, or sexual orientation. Adult film 'actress' doesn't fall into any of those categories. Until it's resolved, she can ask to be paid in cash and she can keep the cash under her mattress (which appears to be where she also earns her living). Wasn't the bakery issue in Oregon or Washington and not California? Different states-different laws.

Doesn't she first have to file suit to get the state prosecutors' attention? No mention she has filed a lawsuit. I don't think so...the gay couple didn't file suit yet the baker was being brought up on charges. (if I remember right - it's Friday, so my brain may not be at 100%) Also-what type of discrimination is she a victim of? Adult film 'actress' doesn't fall into any of those categories. Exactly my point...its only discrimination if it effects "certain" groups? That means anyone outside of those groups are being discriminated against by anti-discrimination laws Until it's resolved, she can ask to be paid in cash and she can keep the cash under her mattress (which appears to be where she also earns her living). Wasn't the bakery issue in Oregon or Washington and not California? Different states-different laws. I believe the discrimination laws are federal? One of the lawers on here might know (Swamp maybe?)

Nope-not federal. Hence California's Unruh Civil Rights Act.
Again-how is she being discriminated against based upon a person's sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, medical condition, marital status, or sexual orientation? Where does adult actress fall in there?
You link also stated the following: "Porn stars and adult entertainment industry insiders do note that the troubles they've experienced are tied to business—not personal—accounts. That may be because personal accounts are opened under their real names, which typically don't raise an eyebrow, while business is done under more well-known pseudonyms, which is when people take notice."
So it's not personal. Therefore, how is her business being discriminated against based upon sex(gender), race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, medical condition, marital status, or sexual orientation? It's not.
ETA: In Tennessee, gays and lesbians can be discriminated at an employer's wish along with refused housing and commercial services. Zero protection against discrimination.
