I used The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland and highly recommend it.

Members of the 1% are far more likely to be Republican, but whatever. Years ago when we did the obligatory Disney tour with the kid there was a book out on how to (legally and ethically) get around the park more efficiently- a whole freaking book! Someone lent it to me before we went. The main point was, most people tend to go around the park in a clockwise fashion, so go counterclockwise to beat the crowds. There was much more to it, but that was the main salient point. It worked pretty well too, for the first half of the day. Nevermind the fact you're wrong- the 1% are far more likely to be liberal, even if you were right- Republicans in Manhattan? I'll grant you it was just a fun little dig, and not in any way based in fact-- even if they were "Republicans" in Manhattan, they sure as hell weren't conservatives.

We're old pros and the tips I'd give are hinged on this- but as important: you need to DECIDE in advance what you want to do- you won't do the whole park in a day. You may not do it in three days. So, narrow it down. Get their early in the day- particularly if you have young children and will be spending a lot of time in "Fantasyland" and "Toontown". If you think you're going to enjoy that area between 11a.m. and 2p.m. you are sorely mistaken.

Going back to the OP...I don't see an issue with it. It's Disney's policy to let handicapped people push ahead of the line. Nowhere does it say the people accompanying the handicapped person need to be related in any way.
If people don't like it, then tell Disney to drop the policy of allowing the cuts in line...problem solved.

Toontown was torn down for the expansion of Fantasyland.
We went to WDW a few years ago with my mother, who needed a scooter to get around. No going to the head of the line, though.

That sounds easy enough to agree with, but the fact is that what's happening is not in line with the spirit of the courtesy provided by Walt Disney Parks. Some things can't be managed, some things are on the honor system, and simply must be at the mercy of the self government of individuals. I think shame may suffice. I doubt Disney will step into the legal morass of trying to ascertain good faith on the part of those possibly engaged in this practice.

Oh that's right. And asking clarification is akin to doubting. I had that same problem with an executive at work.

I'm having a mental block about thinking Tina Fey was a Republican. I can't imagine why I would have said that- let alone "insisted"- but hey, I am not above making mistakes and admitting them. It's how I was raised- in my all former Democrat family. Nevertheless, I think my overall thinking on this is that I hope people are shamed into not doing this. If not, it is going to destroy all the good will intended, and that people have for the disabled and their legitimate travel companions- friends and family, not "employers". The practice that REALLY drives me crazy is that of sending one person as a place holder, and then 106 other people wade through the line to 'catch up' to them. My wife hates it, but I have the habit of stopping them, asking where their part is, and telling them we'll send them back to you. I've gotten to be a real asshole about it because anywhere else, it's line jumping and will get you the boot.

Those graphs are pretty solidly below 50%, DJ. Considering "Conservative Protestant" is the only one that breaches 50%, aren't you proving Paul's point?

Considering "Conservative Protestant" is the only one that breaches 50%, aren't you proving Paul's point? not unless you think that the balance are Democrats. they aren't. about 1/4 of all registered voters are neither Democrat OR Republican. registration among the two parties is about equal. but what i was trying to illustrate is that the idea that there are more wealthy liberals than wealthy conservatives is false. unless you think there are a lot of liberals that vote GOP. NOTE: as i pointed out, the 1% is way more skewed than the 10% shown at the top of this graph.
