One good thing about "hippies"... unlike their "Type A" nemeses, they seldom (if ever) hunt for witches to burn. Their "Live and let live" attitude is rarely (if ever) aggressive OR hostile.

there is a lot more smoke than fire to most of these "scandals". and the justice department "broke" the AP Scandal, which makes me wonder if it can rightly be called a scandal. it almost seems like the admin is proud of it.

good example of someone out of their depths- with no authority to speak on a subject. happens all of the time, unfortunately, in the LAMESTREAM MEDIA.

Here's a headline you didn't see anywhere: White Man Beaten By Six "Bored" Black Teens DiesIt's true, but you don't find the pertinent details in the story. Can you even IMAGINE if this was the other way around? Can you IMAGINE if six white teens beat a black man, and the man subsequently died (it hasn't been determined by the coroner yet whether his death is directly attributable to the beating-- but that wouldn't matter, either, if it were the reverse). www.10tv.com/content/stories/2013/07/1... beta.cincinnati.com/article/20130625/N...

Wow-never heard that story before. Well they can whine and complain all day- at the end of it the only way a health care system can work is if everyone is in the pool. NY just beat everyone else to that. And every other country beat the USA to it. People wanted insurance companies to be a part of it- so now they get to live with the prices- be glad the ACA forces a loss ratio- or it would be even worse.

In fairness, the NYT piece about plummeting NY premiums under Obamacare is a complete crock.

the lower deficit, which we discussed so thoroughly got precisely SEVEN MINUTES of news coverage: Media Hardly Notice Deficit Drop RESEARCH ››› May 16, 2013 12:39 PM EDT ››› HANNAH GROCH-BEGLEY 58 Following months of media calls for deficit reduction, cable news channels spent just over 7 minutes reporting on a revised Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projection that the 2013 deficit will decline by more than previous estimates. Broadcast network news evening shows did not cover the new report. henceforth, i will reply LBMA (liberal bias my ass). The deficit would have to drop a trillion dollars just to reach the Bush levels of borrowing.

i did a review of the reason that the deficit is falling so much. only about 1/4 of the drop is due to budget trimming (which the GOP likes to take credit for- fine by me). the rest is due to higher than expected revenues due to changes in tax policy and economic growth (which i can't imagine the GOP taking credit for, but they probably will try to). PS: S&P will follow within a year. mark my words.

note to the board: the manufacturing business, particularly for consumer non-durables, is kind of a canary in a coal mine for growth. my business is almost always ahead of the curve when it comes to both downturns and recoveries. business is insane right now. we just had a record second quarter in terms of sales AND profits, and i am looking at duplicating the feat in the 3rd quarter. we have a 10 week backlog. it is sh(*house crazy out here.

I tend to agree with you, dj. We've been in alignment on this from the get-go. As far as the politicians go, I don't give a flip who beats their chest in victory. Since they're all crooks as far as I'm concerned, I pay little attention to their ranting OR their crowing.

I remember you saying last summer was a nightmare. I really felt for you and was so glad when you decided to take that vacation. I imagine the stress was mind-blowing. Now, it's behind you and the train is chugging down the right track. That's happening for several of my friends and family here, including my son-in-law. They're busting their butts just to keep up with demand. We're recovering. A hit like the world economy recently took doesn't just go away overnight. I'm glad to see things going forward and expect it to continue, barring any major catastrophe.

topping for Virgil.
this wasn't the only one. Paul and i had a number of discussions on this subject. it got annoying that it kept taking over threads (hence his attempt, here, to start a thread dedicated to it) but unfortunately, it seems like Paul got tired of the subject after this. in fact, he only made it a few posts before turning it into yet another pro-life crusade thread.
in any case, you might go through this and look for MORE key terms. as i said before, i have had enough of this subject on this board. i have said everything i intended to say, and far better than i can now, in the past.
