Geez Beer, did you really have to post the picture with it ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/huh.gif) I could have convinced myself that it wouldn't be good without that picture. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/raspberries.png)

Hey, I didn't post the recipes for the last 2. That's something, right?

Yeah, but I'm sure I can find them or have something close enough in one of my million cookbooks at home. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png)

Yeah to the gastric bypass folks who are posting fatty, crappy food. Between work and my neighborhood I know FIVE women who have had the surgery, and Every. Single. One. of them not only has re-gain the weight, two are heavier than they were before! So sad . . . I will never understand why someone would voluntarily, permanently destroy their digestive system only to keep right on doing what they've always done. But that's just me being judgemental (sorry ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) ).

I just saw this one and thought of this thread: ![](https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/35011_10151624063480774_548514176_n.jpg) ETA: You can serve this on the side! ![](https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/313773_299859623477639_2057250197_n.jpg) (I need to get off of FB) what the hell is it? All I can see is cheese (which I love, don't get me wrong, but....).

People seem to miss the part where if you don't change your diet it doesn't work. Your stomach stretches so if you continue stuffing it, it'll go back to what it was before. To keep the tiny stomach you have to eat tiny meals. It's an attitude of "modern medicine solves everything!" and it not dawning on people you have to follow the rules afterwards. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/headbang.gif)

All I can see is cheese (which I love, don't get me wrong, but....). The first one is Alfredo Lasagna and the second is Italian pull-apart bread.

Alfredo lasagna?! Are you TRYING to die early?! I mean I make Alfredo sauce sometimes, but I use neufactel (sp?) cheese and lowfat milk - not regular cream cheese and heavy cream! And I would NEVER use that sauce in a lasagna!!! Ugh, my arteries are hardening just thinking about that! ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/faint.gif)

Yeah, I’ve seen a lot of this, too, just in the last month. The biggest offender is a guy who’s a definite gourmand and has the girth to prove it. Have you noticed how many of the recipes have in the text “Be sure to post this on your FaceBook page so you can find it later”, or similar words. Which just gives the recipe site more free publicity.
I could eat about 3 bites of most of these things and beyond that it would be just more fat than I’m used to consuming. That’s why I’m 5’7, weigh 130 lbs. at age 60, and just ran a 5K last weekend in 35 minutes.

and I have the opposite on FB - people trying to outdo each others' healthy meals. One guy is a body builder and posts pictures of his dinner - like a pound of chicken breasts and like 1/2 a pound of asparagus ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/sick.png) . I do get the occasional food porn though (and sometimes I post it myself! ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) ).

OK, I admit that I post food porn photos on FB, but they go along with my food column. And I do post a lot of photos from local farmers' markets that contain healthy stuff, too. I mean, I live in the winter produce capitol of the country, so of course, I want you to be incredibly jealous of that. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/raspberries.png)

Those pictures were all from the same friend's wall, and she posts multiple ones every day. I can only imagine what her and her family are going to look like next time I see her if she cooks like this every day. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/shocked.gif)

I wish I had posted what I had for dinner Saturday. Lobster, diver scallops and truffles over pasta in a Parmesan cream sauce. With fresh bread on the side. Oh, and I had lobster bisque as an appetizer. Dayum, I could have eaten double of everything, it was so good. Of course, the only way out of the restaurant at that point would have been to roll down the stairs and onto a stretcher, courtesy of EMS. I'm eating salads all week to make up for it. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/melancholy.png)

I haven't been eating that well lately. The final final straw was yesterday - DS has decided that he wants to at least try everything that he sees us eating. He tried to steal my cookie and fries... so yeah, I need to eat healthier. I struggled with weight for most of my childhood (due to poor food choices - a lot of which wasn't within my control) and I don't want him to go through that.

Most people dont look at middle age porn. yeah, but it would be easier for me to bake and eat a tray of brownies than it would be for me to hit Channing Tatum/RDJr./Vin Diesel.

If I wasn't so sure it would taste horrible, I'd ask for the recipe! ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) DS LOVES cheese, but he won't eat any meat whatsoever, so I need to find a way to get more protein into his diet.

I have had vegan chocolate cake.... it was AWESOME!
DQ, I don't know... maybe. I'll have to try it. He doesn't eat veggies either, so we started feeding him vegetable pasta and he seems to like that.

I have read articles that say kids that drink too much milk are pickier eaters. It rings true for my kids. My oldest could drink milk all day long and be perfectly happy never to eat solid food again. My youngest has a dairy allergy and can't drink milk and he has the most sophisticated palet I've ever seen. He can eat his weight in asparagus, sushi, and shrimp cocktail. I think it depends on the kids. Both of mine are heavy milk drinkers but they eat everything that comes in sight. I am having a hard time keeping my 8 yr old fed ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/sad.png) The kid is hungery every 10 min and can be found inside the pantry or the fridge almost all the time. And he is skinny!! DD is also heavily into milk but it just doesn't fill her up. She will drink a gallon of milk a day if I let her. Some kids are just pickier than others. Don't know why.

I don't think it holds true. Neither of my kids are particularly picky. They definitely have their likes and dislikes. Both drink milk - my daughter more than my son.

My four year old eats nothing but cereal and plain pasta. I drizzle a little olive oil on the pasta and add some Italian seasoning and garlic salt. He loves it. He also loves wheat crackers, Puffins, grapes, and applesauce. He stole my oatmeal on Saturday and he seemed to like that. We're in a cereal or egg for every meal phase. She eats good at daycare and in general has a pretty varied pallete so Iride out her picky phases.. It's not worth it at this age to turn dinner into a battle. She's growing like a weed so she must be getting what she needs. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/idunno.gif) She usually snaps out of it on her own and will decide one day to lick her dinner plate clean. We just keep putting dinner in front of her and let her see us model healthy habits.
