I liked the movie a lot. Beutiful cinematography. The book on the other hand......<yawn> It droned on and on ........

LOL - This movie seems to have the most people who disagree. I don't know if "beautiful" is good enough. If the story line sucks, I don't want to watch 2 hours of beautiful pictures. I'm afraid that it will be so heavy handed with the whole religious/God thing that I will get irritated.

Actually thyme, the movie was not heavy on the religious/God thing. It was more about the boy's survival. They barely touched the religious aspect in the beginning of the movie. Thats what I liked about it, that they didn't go heavy handed into the God thing, unlike the book.
I have read the book and it had heavy doses of spirituality. Put me to sleep.

I really liked the story about the boy and the tiger in the boat, but what he did with religion just blew me away.
