I too have a few friends Phoenix might hit it off with. Perhaps he should start a thread with valued criteria.

16. Then I was a bit of a tramp for a while. Eventually I settled down a bit. But I must admit that my 20's were WAY more crazy than my high school and college years. Maybe not Carl crazy, but still quite crazy! And if we're "comparing" ex-cons, I have a cousin who has been in and out quite a few times since the late 70's (he's been out for 10 years or so now and seems to have finally pulled himself together). His stories aren't pretty.... My late 20's were definitely WAY more wild and crazy than my teens or college years. I was a pretty responsible kid, but man, the stars seemed to align in my late 20's and we had some CRAZY times. BFF and I still reminisce about the night we were rock stars. After the bars closed and we headed back to my apartment, FOUR sets of guys we had been casually dating pulled in my driveway. We are looking at each other in disbelief saying, "who do you want?", well, "who do you want? Cuz they have to come in a pair"! LOL, fun times that I didn't appreciate nearly enough. Now I'm a boring 43 yo homebody that hasn't had a date in 8 months.

Yes, but you never went to prison, loser Personally, I am good with never having been in prison. I guess I will just have to live with the fact that Doxie's friend is infinitely cooler than me.

My dd showed me a Facebook picture of a girl in 9th grade holding her baby. This girl was pregnant in 8th grade! Looking at the pictures, she looks very much like my dd. it scared the hell out of me. I reminded her that girls that have sex wind-up pregnant and live in trailers!lol Oped, did your grandparents have a big hand in raising you? I look at my dd and I can't imagine her having the responsibility of a baby anytime soon

We stayed with grandparents I think the first year? Honestly, I think getting out of their houses was as much an impetus for my parents getting pregnant as anything. I know we were in an apartment by the time I was 2, and lived in a cabin from the time I was 4-8. I don't think they helped much. Dad was 2 years older. I think he got some help with college from govt programs? I don't remember a lot fom my childhood actually. Probably better that way. I mean, it wasn't horrid like some kids have it, but what did they know? Really? ... They were still raising themselves.

Yep, my mom was pregnant with my brother when she was 15, almost 16, and my dad was 10 years older. Quite the family drama. LOL, they got married before he was born and were married over 30 years, and pretty happily. They are still friendly even though they are no longer together. Against all odds, I guess...

This thread just confirms many of the YM posters are nerdy and not the wild types. How do you live like that? Does it suck not having any wild stories from your teen years? You missed the boat, honey. If only you'd gotten a Math degree in the 1970s, you would have been in classrooms surrounded by men, stimulating your brain with Linear Algebra, Microeconomics, Intermediate Physics and Fortran during the day and stimulating... uh.. other stuff at night. And you'd have a much-ballyhooed STEM degree! Win-win.

I was 16. One of the reasons I chose my wife was because the sex was incredible. It still is after 22 years. I think bad sex will ruin a marriage. Do I highly recommend trying things out before you commit to a long term relationship.

I was 18, but a college sophomore at that point. It was my ex, too.
I was a party girl my freshman year in college (something few people know about me), but even party girls didn't have sex except with their boyfriends. This was in the early 1970s. That included oral sex.
Heck, all the guys admired "Mary Jo" who didn't even kiss on the first date. I felt like such a slut sometimes. Lol.

Yes but ex prisoner friends make up the great wild stories prior to them going to prison. It's been a boring ten years. And not all ex cons are lowlifes. They are people that have just done things not completely on the up & up. Folks that never got locked up, just never got caught. But if you all say you have never done anything bad, your lying. How many of you have done drugs? I have not, but good grief I have enough of other things on my list of things I ain't proud of.... My teenage years were my favorite time because it was always an adventure. Plus I always had money back then. I worked during the day, had very few expenses and could easily fund my lifestyle. And for some reason, I needed very little sleep back then. Two hours a night and I was good to go. Now ten hours is not enough. Oh boy.

I was 21 and I guessed it was time to have fun. End of story, or the beginning, depending on how you look at it.

My grandma had my Aunt at 14 and my dad at 15. I can't imagine having 1, let alone TWO kids by time I was 15.
Doxie, I would not be proud/bragging that I was friends with criminals/prisoners. It seriously isn't something to be proud about. I can't imagine wishing my life was the same as it was when I was in HS. I love being a wife and mother. I love that I am secure with who I am today and that I don't have to dwell on the past. I have a great life and I wouldn't trade it relive any wild story of my youth.

LOL, sorry, my dance card is full. But it's a big state, and I think everyone should be unwrapping the winter layers by now and starting to come back outside. Hope springs eternal!
