Our favorite Chinese food place has gone thru 3 incarnations & 3 new owners. The first version, China Garden, was good, but service was spotty & it shut down for 6 months. Second version, #1 China Garden, was really good, but after a couple of years the owner was busted for human trafficking (no wonder the food was really good!) & it shut down for almost a year. The third version, Mt Fuji Chinese, is REALLY good, service is great, they expanded everything & it's actually our goto for seafood & Chinese food. It's like a Chinese buffet on steroids.

I think it is just to make them easier to find in the phone book.

This also reminds me of the business that used to put AAA in front of the names "AAA Radiator Repair Shop" because it gets you listed first in the phone book. Maybe 50 years from now nobody will understand because they don't know waht the yellow pages were. 50 years? I don't think DD17 knows what the Yellow Pages are now! If it's not on her IPhone, she has no concept of an item's existence. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/grin.png)

That's a strange name for a Chinese restaurant...Mt Fuji is in Japan. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png) Another example of the Americans won't know the difference?

HEY! I used to eat there all the time when I lived there. Are you in STL? We always said "Do you want to go for lunch at the Cat Clinic?" LOL We never even really knew what the actual name was.
