It's good to see the private sector beginning to pick up the slack where NASA dropped the ball - perhaps we can start diverting NASA funding to grant-pools for such initiatives? Now that would get NASA off its dead-ass and get it resuming serious space exploration, lickety-split...

Really- you think the government got on the moon by itself? Do you have any clue how much private technology was involved in the space program? Do you even know who built the Saturn V?

Just about all of the space program was made possible by private companies with a government subsidy. In fact the whole defense industry is a taxpayer blank check to private industry.

Typical but denied- big profits are made off of government backed research that pays off and are 'privitized'. The government sucks until it makes you rich- which is where we find the large GOP donors- we hate the government but we like the checks.
