How about a surprise romantic weekend get away? That is probably exactly what I should do. Our 10 year wedding anniversary was in March and we couldn't do anything because he was so busy with school. 30, We usually get away once a month even we don't have a child at home. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png) Together time is must for the couple. It make a marriage stronger.

Okay, better now. Hearing poli sci and foreign relations does that to me. I'm now thinking along the lines of buying a glue gun and a gallon of pickles. Then send the pickles down the garbage disposal (what other use is there for them? ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png) ) and using the glue gun to fasten the graduation headgear to the pickle jar to form a piggy bank for the Lil 'un's college fund. <sigh> Even I have to admit that this is a bit of a stretch. Does DH have any hobbies?

I like the diploma frame idea. The school bookstore will have one with the school's insignia, etc.
I bought one as my own graduation present although they are very pricey ($150). I worked hard for that diploma. Of course, in many professions it is considered tacky to display your diploma so it hangs in my home office.

When my husband graduated I bought him a really nice hard bound copy of his favorite book and wrote a sappy note inside saying how proud I was, and that no gift I could give him would capture the gift he gave himself. He totally bought it. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) I also bought him a new suit and a bunch of ties.

I would say try and figure out something having to do with the job he's getting or the job he wants. Poli Sci and federal government administration are kind of hard to "buy for though."
But you can never go wrong with the classics.
Nice Wallet
Nice Watch.
Frame for Diploma
I don't know, if he's getting an office you can get pictures and stuff for that.

I thought of a great gift. How about having his car detailed? I think that is a nice gift that would be appreciated in addition to the weekend getaway. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png)

What was his field again? He has a double major -political science and foreign relations (or something like that) The diploma frame is a good idea so that when people ask what you gave him, he can answer honestly. Then you're going to need an Uncle Sam hat for him and a sexy diplomat outfit for you. I think sexy diplomat is basically sexy librarian, but with a Russian accent. I've had good luck on Vegas deals through onetravel.com and through the airlines themselves. (Delta and Southwest definitely have good flight+hotel+show ticket packages pretty regularly)
