I bought P90X last week to have something to do at home (too expensive to pay to take the kids to the gym). I thought I was in halfway decent shape. WRONG. I did the first DVD yesterday and while I couldn't complete it, I forgave myself because what woman can do 200+ pushups? But then I did the 2nd DVD today (all jumping lunges) and could only do 25 minutes of it (58 minute DVD). WTF!!! Apparently I'm a completely out of shape lard ass. On the positive side, I won't outgrow the program anytime soon so I'll be getting my money's worth out of it.

LOL! I can relate! I thought I was in decent shape -- then I signed up for a kettlebell class, and it kicked my butt. I had to keep downsizing the kettlebells, and still couldn't finish several of the exercises. Great workout, though!! But, give yourself credit!! Sounds like a great workout.

I've been told that P90 is a good "warmup" program to follow for a little while before attempting P90X. and no judging here, I'm in the same boat.

Too funny - we bought Power 90 like two years ago and never did it. I just started it last week and finished week 2 today. At first you start and you think "this is sooooo easy" and then you wake up the next day and you can't feel your triceps and after the cardio video, you can't feel your hamstrings. After I finish this, I hope to do P90X. I run, so I am in pretty good shape, but it definitely works all your muscles. I can already see some definition after just two weeks. And I am still just doing the Phase 1-2 DVDs. I think I am going to switch to Phase 3-4 after 30 days.

DH and I got our ass kicked by the Power 90 program and then felt like crap for months. Our take away lesson is that exercising is bad for your health. Don't be ashamed - it's an intense workout!

I can relate. I like to take a class once in a while to see how my fitness is coming. I'll do a Zumba or muscle pump or a kettlebell. In muscle pump, I use light weights.
I exercise to maintain fitness to do other things like tennis and golf. I knew early on that I wasn't going to marathon, triathalon, or body build and now adventure extreme races. I am relieved of doing intensity.
I really enjoyed watching Eco Challenge when it was one of the first reality TV shows.
My bottom line is just do something to maintain a quality life.
