I admit it, I'm a little bit tech challenged. Mostly by choice. It's just not something I enjoy or that interests me. Plus, it's one of the few things that DH will do around the house, so I have steadfastly refused to learn how to program the VCR when we were first married and now how to keep the computers and esoteric stuff running. This is going somewhere awful for me and funny for you, I promise. So a few years ago after a high school reunion, I wanted to get on Facebook to catch up with people. DH helped me set it up, picking pictures, etc. I really didn't care much about that, just that having an account let me visit with the other people, so didn't ever change or edit the pics that were first posted. Within a month or so, I fell out of love with FB because it seemed to be 95% drivel and bizarre information about how so and so just did something on a farm game and less than 5% interesting stuff about people I was interested in. Took too much time to sort through the junk, so I stopped. Recently, MSN forced all of us dinosaurs with Hotmail accounts to use their new Outlook system. One of the first emails I received through the new Outlook system was a reply to a business related email I sent. Next to my email was a picture of me in a bikini! ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/wte.png) I recognized the picture - one of my favorites because it's me standing on a boat in front of the big distinctive rock/volcano on Bora Bora, one of my favorite vacations ever. But no way in heck had I sent anyone this picture, put it in Hotmail, etc. And I was mortified to think of what business associates might have seen something like that. Took me a while to figure out it's a picture from Facebook that Outlook has somehow linked into. So I had to sign on to FB (which of course I had forgotten how to do), delete the pics, etc. But Outlook still had that picture as my picture, so I had to then figure out how to change that. And I'm still wondering how long Outlook was sending that picture out without me knowing about it. Tell me about your tech disasters.

If you knew me, you'd laugh harder. I'm a pretty conservative dresser in business and am really careful to not send mixed signals. I don't hug people in business situations, etc. I'm sure whoever got those emails thought it was a joke because they probably think I don't own a bathing suit, much less a bikini.

Oh my .... Lol...
Just FYI, I have quite a few 'friends' on facebook... Maybe 20 of them actually show up in my feed... You can manipulate the settings so junk posters don't show on your screen at all...

But isn't that picture only on your new account? I don't think the email actually goes through with the picture. Unless (maybe) that person has a hotmail/outlook email also?
I just sent an email from my hotmail/outlook to my gmail and my other email account (yes, I have three - much to my dismay) and the picture didn't send.

OK, so at first your post looked like foreign language gibberish to me because of my stubborn tech ignorance. But a second attempt (in which I read it twice slowly with my tongue sticking out of the corner of my mouth) leads me to think that you might be asking if the bikini picture would only have been sent if the email recipient also has a hotmail or outlook account. Is that right? Because if that's true, I'm going to be really, really happy. Don't remember what type of email account the other person had because horror had clouded my ability to focus on anything but the issue at hand.

Yes - I believe that you are the only one that sees the picture. It is like...if you have a background on your phone, it doesn't show up on someone else's phone if you call them. (That might not be a perfect example. But I'm somewhat sure that the picture didn't get emailed to your business associate.)

But since there were also pictures of them next to their emails, I don't know if that means they could see mine as well... But if you think they could, I'm totally OK with you all lying to me.

My most recent tech adventure was after reading WCP's post on how employers aren't hiring long-term unemployed. He described how to do a google search on your own name to see what images are out there. When I did that, the results were pretty weird.
Several hundred pictures popped up. One was of me finishing a local half marathon 2 years ago. A second was of me at a local running club event. Those were the only pictures that were actually of me. The other pictures were all of lowlife mug shots. If someone didn't know me well, I guess they might think that one or two of the mug shots were me on a very, very bad night.
So sorry I did that search. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/undecided.png)

I did the google image search and came up with some pictures of me that we're in the paper for service clubs and donations, and lots of pictures that are not me.

No. But don't ask about my new jumbo sized sexy picture in my bedroom. It's for DH. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/angel2.png)

The next row was a series of old profile pics of a few of my FB friends, and then it devolved into some weirdness - pictures of random cemetery headstones, a pic of Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian, and an ad for Horrorhound Weekend. And my personal favorite, the 2007 Annual Report and Honor Roll of Former Agents of the FBI Foundation. Seriously - what? ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png)

Maybe. But judging from the google image results, those pics aren't actually of me.

A Google image search for my name brings up:
1) my LinkedIn profile picture (understandable)
2) a photo of some random baby (bizarre)
3) a photo of me receiving an award that must still be on my grad school department's website somewhere
4) a wedding photo (not at all sure how this got associated with the website I've never heard of)
5) gazillions of random pictures that are not me
I must have appropriately locked down my Facebook settings, because none of the many many photos I have tagged show in the image search.

If you do a google search on me, I don't even come up on the first page. There is another person with my same name, in my same industry, who graduated from the same college as I did who was the CFO of a publicly traded company. Her image dominates any search for that name. When I switched over to the "Images" page - there are all kinds of pictures. A bunch of the CFO, but also a gal in a hammock, a baby holding a bear, a bald guy, a lady dancing the Tango - but not much of me.

Interesting. The meetup picture I use, of my kids.. have to change that. My facebook picture which is generic at the moment. Hundreds and hundreds of things that aren't me, but in there are 1 of friends? Husbands facebook pic and one of his cousin.
Interesting, and not sure I'm giving too much, but if you translate our last name, my name is the same as a animated character, and there were several pics of the character there...

Okay - let's start guessing...
Spongebob? Bambi? Cartman? Blossom, Bubbles or Buttercup? Sterling Archer? Felix? Natasha Fatale? Ren or Stimpy? Gumby?

Milee, I just tested it for you. The picture will transmit to other outlook email accounts but it doesn't transmit to other types of email (i.e. gmail account).
So you can see who you sent it to by going into your sent items and looking at the type of email addresses that you sent things to after the conversion to outlook.

HA! I did the google image search of my maiden name and nothing came up. Well, there was a picture of Jason Alexander for some reason (my maiden name is neither Jason or Alexander, so WTF?). I also found a MyLife blurb so I clicked on it and it shows I graduated 2 years after I actually did! So....does this mean I can start lying about my age?!?! ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/grin.png)

I checked google images and in both my maiden and married name, there's not a single picture of me. I guess my privacy settings are doing something.

I've had mine set that way ever since it became and option and just did an image search for myself using my name, state, and company name and nothing came up. I don't put anything on FB I wouldn't want everyone to see anyway because I have several co-workers and family members as friends. That makes for a great incentive to censor myself when posting. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png)

I just googled my first-maiden-last name combo - which is what is on my resume. And there was a picture of my face, wearing glasses, so it must be 5+ years old. And after that, there was a couple of random pictures, and then pages and pages and pages of dogs. So, I guess I'm a dog. Woof.

Did you look at the regular google search for yourself, there are 2 websites that have my location and one of those lists a couple of old addresses. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/angry2.png) Other than those, the worst thing I found was my Pintrest account I never use and you could see all the people I followed. Work was way down the list of junk but still on the 1st page.
