My dumbass move of the day

I stopped to get a bottle of Coke Zero on my way back to the office from a closing. I drank about half of it while driving.  When I got back to the office, I put the cap back on the bottle and put it in my purse sideways.

The cap wasn't on tight and about 6 oz of Coke Zero was sloshing around in the bottom of my purse.

Yes, it's Coach.  No, there were no crab legs in it.   The phone was on top so it didn't get wet.  My wallet and umbrella are sticky and soaked.

Bummer.  I did that once with a bottle of water.  Luckily it was ONLY a bottle of water.  Everything was soaked.  I had to take every little card and piece of paper out of my wallet and hang them on the line to dry.

I was driving back from my dad's with last night's leftovers. It's about a 50mi drive with some curvey foothills roads. I was smart enough to ask for for a soup container as it tipped over a couple of times. I had mussels in garlic and wines sauce over pasta. That would have really stunk up the car!

I think the worst was when then DH 2 B talked me into taking a couple of half and half creamers with me when we were traveling so I wouldn't have to use the nasty dry things that were at the hotel. I forgot about them and a week later started to smell them as one of them had leaked in the purse. You can never get the smell of curdled milk out of a purse. I eventually wound up tossing it.

Can you get the smell of crab legs out of a coach purse?

Glad I don't carry a purse. Everything I need fits in the back pocket of my Levi's  and I don't drink carbonated anything (bad for the bones...especially old bones).

I have sent two bags back for repair, but it was several years ago.  They were the legacy style unlined bags, and I had worn out the turnlocks.  They replaced the turnlocks, cleaned the leather, and replaced the shoulder straps, which had become worn.  I do not recall what the charge was, if any.  I think there may have been no charge.  I just checked the Coach website to see what the current policy is, and there is now a $20 shipping and handling fee.  There does not seem to be a charge for anything else related to fixing handbags, just the shipping and handling.  Well worth it to get your bag back in nearly new condition.

Well, that WAS a dumbass move, but you couldn't have timed it better.
