DH was impressed because of my mail today: - I got a $25 gift card from Olive Garden because I had complained about poor service. They were "too busy" to take my to-go order one day.
- I got a $20 Visa gift card from Angie's List because I filled out two reviews on health care providers. They are trying to build up their review base in my area. I previously got a $25 Amazon gift card from them. They have more than reimbursed my three-year membership.
- I got a $13.98 rebate check from Staples for buying two reams of copy paper that were free after rebate. Even with tax, I pad about 70 cents a ream. That's expensive for paper, though. I wonder if they actually sell much at that price.
- I got a $5 "no beer purchase required" rebate for buying $10 worth of bottled water. At first they denied me because the customer service representative didn't know that Dasani was a brand of water. Quit laughing!
He got a bill.
So did you get anything interesting in the mail?

No mail for me. There was a business card and a bunch of crap from the IRS on the door though. The previous tenants seem to have tax issues. I sent a letter from IRS addressed to the prior tenant back to them on Tuesday. I guess she doesn't believe it. They were last here in early 2009. I have to call her tomorrow and convince her that those people are long gone.

I got THREE strongly worded letters from the VA telling me that they have overpaid me by about $400 and I better pay them back. I paid them 3 days ago...but they still are sending all correspondence to my previous address, and so it is taking a while to get to me.

I have a feeling she's going to assume I know where they went. Or with my luck she works a flex schedule like me and has tomorrow off.

Wvugurl, that would be my luck too. So you aren't alone.
For a while we were getting mail for a guy who owed a couple of banks money. He had lived here three years before us. Someone said he packed all the stuff he could into the side saddle bags on his motorcycle and left in the dead of night. Our landlady said she didn't realize he had left until someone complained about his mail being all over the stairs because they weren't able to put anymore into the slot.

DH and I got a "Save the Date" card for a wedding in August. I also got a standard notice about the "perks" from my health insurance company. For wedding, I'm not sure if we will be in this part of the state then or not. If we are, I know we'd go to it. If we're not, who knows. Ideally, I would love for DD and I to be down south with DH by DD's birthday. Her birthday is the beginning of August while the wedding is about 3 weeks after that. Also, we get very few bills at our house mailbox. We have the majority of our bills go to a post office box, which I go to once a week to collect everything.

A bill from my audiologist for over $3000 for new hearing aids. Fortunately it is still being submitted to insurance.

I got an $8 Staples rebate yesterday as well. A few sale catalogs (seem to get them daily) and a bill from daughter's allergy doc.

I got a check for $250 refunding a deposit. I had to cancel a reservation for a week in a cabin at a lake resort. I was very impressed that they refunded the deposit at all and in it's entirety. According to their cancellation policy, they didn't have to.

IRS has been dealt with. Lady was nice and didn't ask me where they went. Now we'll see if they quit bugging us.

I got invoices from HSUS, ASPCA, and my local animal shelter. YES, I try to contribute regularly, please do NOT waste what little amount I do contribute on all the mailings! I can't send more than I already do, so WEEKLY reminders aren't necessary. In fact, they make me angry for wasting money on the paper and postage! Maybe I shouldn't be mad. Maybe I'm looking at the whole thing wrong, I don't know... Either way, no fun mail for me.

I got a big box of bull penises. Oh come on! Don't leave us guessing! Why did you get bull penises in the mail? Poor bulls. We got a second surprise in our mail that I mentioned above. Our Six Feet Under DVD was Mad Men. So we tried to watch that and now I'm all stabby. DH is too. LOL! He said that was very uncomfortable to watch. My DH is so awesome!

Technically, they are called "bully sticks" and they are for the dogs. Much cheaper to buy them in bulk for less than $5/each than pay $10+for one at the pet store. Better for the dogs than rawhide. Not as big of a choking hazard.

I usually get them shipped to my office, because it is a hassle to get to the post office in time if I ship them to my home. Last shipment was sent to my old employer by mistake. When I noticed my box was marked as "received" and I hadn't gotten it, I called the old office and said..ah..soo did you receive an unusual box for me? The receptionist laughed and said they opened it and figured it was for my dogs.
