I have at the bottom of every NMSNM page:




"5 Signs You'll Get Cancer", with a picture of a smiling cancer patient. The "signs" given in the article are presumably things like "family history", "discoloured patches of skin", "living in LA", etc. so that the reader can conveniently kill himself off with stress before the cancer gets him.

If anyone here knows ways of dealing with dental anxiety (article 2) or things to do with dogs while on vacation (article 4) that aren't obvious to everyone over the age of twelve, by all means post them here.

The third article could be of some use to the 0.01% of readers that happen to live in Austin but for some reason can't Google "Austin veterinarians", so we'll give that one a pass.

The last article is the one that scares me.

Please tell me you guys can see the same thing on your browsers, because if you can't it means that it's been targeted to me specifically. And I don't want to know what it means when an ad server that has complete access to my posting history thinks I'd be interested in a survey of doorknobs.

I don't know. Now it wants to know if I want to refinance at a 2.75% fixed rate. Did the Allie McBeal baby grow up and go into the home refinance business?

I'm at least able to block the banner ads.

I've spent a considerable amount of money to allow the board to go ad-free, as well as purchasing numerous 'badges'. I hope to encourage websites to move away from useless, bandwidth-sucking banner ads into micropayment revenue models.

I do understand that money makes the world go round. But like you, I can do without refinancing scams and "babes from hell" chewing up my bandwidth.
