My father was given beer in the hospital after he received a heart transplant. Not sure why - perhaps as a blood thinner.
If the heart surgeons prescribed it, it must be good, right? Mine told me to drink some more red wine.

The 'eat real food' (or paleo bunch) are just too much these days. Especially since most of the people that dispense that advice don't really lead the lifestyle the majority of the time. Bu when it comes to dispensing advice, everyone needs to be 100% compliant!!!

Eat more real food isn't inherently Paleo .... And I don't see how eat more real food can be a bad thing?

Eat more real food isn't inherently Paleo .... And I don't see how eat more real food can be a bad thing? I'm not saying it is Paleo, but they are kinda cut from the same cloth in terms of dogma. I'm not saying it's bad advice to choose a natural option. I'm just saying that the "real food only" diet usually comes after someone has had some enlightenmint. In other words, someone eating unhealthy that reads some advice that you should eat the real food, would probably simply replace the egg white with the full egg. Are they better off? They are likely eating a similar diet, but now they are doing full fat butter and eggs. Personally, I think it's better to have people (for weight loss) focused on calories and reducing their waistline. That will help them make dramatic improvements in their health. When people start the snowball, they generally move into the next phase of their diets (eliminating processed foods, gluten, etc.).

Personally for me the less processed the better due to my food allergies. I'm allergic to a couple of very common additives. Further everyone has said in moderation which to me means you do also focus on total calories. No one said slather butter on everything and fry up some eggs and bacon every morning.
This isn't some fad to me, it is much better for me to make meals from scratch. The fact is I'm allergic to a few things that seem to be on every label even pricey organic stuff.
I have no bone in the egg fight as I'm allergic to egg whites. I didn't think I was too allergic until the last time I ate two of them. I spent the day puking up my guts and wishing I could die. No eggs for me.
