Everyone has had a grand time thinking how racist I am, but let's get back to the intent of the thread, and Teddy Roosevelt. Hard to believe just a hundred years ago we could possibly pass such (what is now thought of as) terrible inhumane legislation. Times have changed, and all you have to say is I am a political refugee, or a religous refugee and the gate is wide open, and I am pretty well . I stand by my comment, the legislation should stand as a requirement to hold political office in D.C. This is why we are in the mess we are facing today. If nothing else, knowledge of living within one's means and balancing a check book should be a requirement. You say inhumane legislation, but you felt the need to add "illegals" to your post. Sorry you do not accept the term "illegals". It is what it is. They are illegal. Human beings with medical brain disorders are not illegal. They have disorders. Nowif they cross the border from Mexico, I consider them illegals, also.

No, you did not, and I quite frankly am not bothered by other's comments, because in my heart, I know who I am, and what I believe. Just want to get back to how the country changes their attitudes in such a short amount of time. A hundred years is not that long, but I am a strict Constitutionalist, and do not believe Government should not do more than what was originally intended by our framers. As the Magna Carta was earth shaking it's political fall out, so is our Constitution. I feel as we add Amendments, we dilute it's actual quality. Except, of course, there are a few that were needed. you ok with the Bill of Rights? Yes 100% NO, BUT, OVERWHELMINGLY, YES

I am not offended that you used the term "illegals". Not in the least. I have hard them called far worse. In your opening post, you said: So if illegals are those you don't like, what is one to think by you adding them in together with "Imbeciles, feebleminded persons, epilectics, insane persons"? Maybe I don't understand your flippancy.

You are correct. It should have stated illegals from South and Central America, but I believe Mexico is considerd part of North America. I just figured I'd make as inaccurate a statement as you did. there are plenty of illegals coming from all over the globe, in myriad other ways than just driving or walking across the US/Mexican border. I'd have highlighted the ridiculously large illegal Brazilian population in my own area, except I feel the need to point out in response to you here that there's a ridiculously large illegal Chinese population in Southern CA as well. oh, and the myriad Arabic students over-staying their college Visas. should I continue? illegal aliens don't have a singular color or ethnicity, and I'm going to call you out on it if you imply it again. just saying.... I agree with you, but you are the one who thought I was singling out "Mexicans" because of the term Mexican border. We all know south and central Americans come across the Mexican/USA border. Would you feel better if I use the term Western Hemisphere illegal aliens? As far as other ethnic groups, I have no qualm having the Government find them and deport them. I am an equal opportunity deporter. Illegal is illegal.

Illegal is illegal. actually, they all don't. that's what prompted my original reply. the vast majority of the illegal Brazilian population in the town where I work are all here on overstayed Visas. last I checked, Brazil was South American. you might be surprised to find that a generally "liberal" person like myself (at least in the black-and-white political landscape that guys like you see....) would be in agreement with you on the concept of illegal immigration. I would like to point out to you now that I'm only disagreeing on your totally BS stereotypes that ignore the fact that illegals come from all walks of life. quite frankly, I want anyone that hasn't "stood in line" so to speak to get their asses back to the end of the line, with the exception of kids that were brought here illegally as kids. that - to ME - is a totally separate argument, as a 1st generation American.

I am going to shock you. 100% IN AGREEMENT. Here in Indiana we face the issue of the "illegal" children going off to state Universities who were payng in-state tuition rates, but now are forced to pay out of states rates which are very high. They basically were not given the choice by their parents of moving here, and are raised as an "American" here. I believe they should pay the in state tuition rate as long as they can prove they just did not move into the state in the last two years or so. It is practically a given, they are remaining in the states after their education, and will be responsible Americans-once they get their citizenship. I also feel citizenship for these children who have grown up here should fastracked once they graduate.

you really don't shock me, there isn't much that does......past an all-out police chase up a CA interstate (or whatever similar parallel..)these days.
again, I notice you don't even acknowledge the BS stereotypes you've posted. would ya care to? I'm honestly not interested in any sort of discussion until you do. I'll just keep picking at your posts in the meantime. I'd much prefer an intelligent conversation, but the ball's in your court.
