Hardly. First off, I would like to see Kate off the defensive which requires egotism suppressed. What needs to go and quick is the tendency to gang up.
Decoy and Midwesterner are contrarians to the current course. COMMON SENSE more than suggests that they post information worth including in your course direction contemplation. There are plenty of hollow-man pot shots at them but nothing anyone is able to validate as another course of COMMON SENSE.
We're here because we respect the broad array of opinions. We are all smart enough not to blindly follow. Given these aspects, there are no opinions held in higher regard than others, just more popularity based on prevailing variables.

The last thing anyone needs here are MORE rules. Let's try avoiding complexity, growing up and treating every single poster with true respect.

Kman, a little kindness to Kate please. We post a lot of pictures of bare nekked ladies. This upsets Kate and rightly so. She posts back pictures of bare nekked men. I like pictures of bare nekked ladies, but Kate is a person and is a part of us. We are a team. We work together.

Kate gives us her perspective of a working person. We need that. I am a working person too, but I don't post about that because I've been warned not to put personal information out on the internet. It will come back to bite you in the butt.

I hope and pray all of us will make millions of dollars, hook up in Vegas checked into suites at Wynn, and sit at the bar drinking champagne high fiving each other telling stories about how our latest annual physical tells us we are all going to live to be 100 years old.

So remember:

2. Kate is the only gal friend we got. We really need Kate around. I don't want her to pack up and move away.

Only part of the problem and only sometimes. FTI and some (not all) members of the rodent pack are also part of the problem. This is what happens when you allow children to play without rules. I used to be a member of the rat pack when I was in fourth grade. I lost interest in it about the time puberty started.
The board is going to hell fast. All successful boards require rules.

The problem I have here with some people is....

If I am not 100% into stocks or 100% into Gold or 100% into somthing.... Some here take offense,,, They call names,,,, I call back,,,, It get ugly..

I am into Stocks (stock funds)
I am into Bonds (bond funds)
I hold Gold ( coins)
I hold Silver ( coins and bullion)

The above does mot make me a bad person....
Don't insult me or offer me $4 an ounce for the silver I hold because it is not 100% of my portfolio......

That simple. I try to be a diverisified investor working toward a goal,,, A happy retirement with plenty of cash....

Don't insult me or call me names if I don't go about it the way you do and I will not call you names back.... That simple

Please re-read the opening post. The rest of us have and understand it. The past is past. I'm sorry that you feel that there is a double standard and you are being put on the wrong end of it. Get over it, please. Life goes on. There are more important things to focus on. Metal is metal. Equities are equities. They go up and come down. Your opinion of what metal means to investment and mine are not and never will be on the same level. IMO equities were the best option for me and have done very well for me. At some point yes this will change and what I decide to do in time will become apparent to me. Whether I choose to change my view is my personal decision. How you invest is yours.

The second part about MikeC I don't understand about the edge thing you are referring to. You are saying he can't back up his statement and he hasn't replied back. No edge (if this is what you are referring to), just a statement you refuted.

I too believe in the USA.. I have invested in T-Bonds for years and done well with the 60/40 efficient Frontier re-balancer system..Sure beets looking at only loses.. Gold has done well for the last 11 years and so have many gold stocks like GG and
GFI.. I agree FTI has posted some great posting.. As before !! If you have a question just ask. Posted again about M1 and M2.sure wish we will see some bank lending of all that money sitting around. So would the Federal Reserve!!!
We need people to believe in the $$$ and save for retirement and education of our children. This will back M2 that has been growing at 5% for the last 12 years of so.. We need savings of 10% to make M2 grow faster for the growth of the GDP.

I don't read every post on this board although I try to keep up. There were four threads locked this weekend that were started by Mid, Decoy, FTI, and Frankq. Pretty even moderation as far as I'm concerned.
Two years ago I got a speeding ticket for going 70mph in a 55mph zone while people were passing me going 80. Boy was I pissed and I told the cop that. He just shrugged and said I was easier to pull over.
