So, what type of lotions do you use? Do you use anything special for your face, eyes or hands? What do you thinks works best for good value? Do you use anything like retinol or prescription products? What about makeup? Do you like a certain brand or buy what is on sale? What do you use for foundation, liner, eyeshadow and so forth?

For my face I use Oil of Oldage. For my body I use Jergens. My make up is Cover Girl, Maybelline(sp?), Revlon, stuff like that. Yeah. I'm high maintenance.

Well, lol, i buy "LA Colors" at the Dollar store. I can't see paying a lot of money for certain products. But, i would like a really good face cream.

For my hands I use my own homemade lotion, it's doing better to heal them than anything else has (winter they get bad, and wire insulation dries them out no matter what time of year it is, so by winter they are cracked, peeling and bleed ) Make-up I'm down to just mascara--I want to have someone teach me how to apply the other stuff, but mostly help figure out the best colors for my skin tone, etc, without me spending a fortune on trial and error. I have decided to try BB cream after hearing about it from a few people (beauty and blemish? Something like that).

for lotions, I find the best results if I stick to the same brand of lotions. I have really bad winter dry skin, and have pump bottles around my house and on my desk at work. all are some flavor of Nivea, with an "extra moisturizing" formula that I use overnight with a pair of cotton gloves.
for makeup, I stick to Almay and Maybelline for dept store purchases. I can't use anything Cover Girl or Noxzema makeup removers b/c I'm allergic to some ingredient they use that the others don't. I've got a couple items from Clinique and Mary Kay kicking around the bag of tricks too.

Lotion is lubriderm. I use some kind of orangy anti aging anti wrinkle cream bu l'oreal on my face. It doesn't seem to be working.
I use bag balm on my feet.
I have no idea what kind of make up I have since I rarely wear it. I think it's Revlon or Almay.

POM's skincare reminds me of my Mom used and I used growing up. One of my best friends in college was a fan of one of the brands in major department stores and used their skincare line, i.e. Estee Lauder or Clinque. Talking to her and perhaps the fact she had this beautiful well kept face convinced me to consider going higher end in skincare. I am high maintenance per YM standards, but not Ultra as per models, actresses, media personalities, etc. In my twenties after getting my Master's (about 20 years ago), I researched the best known skincare regimes from the standpoint of healthy for you, sustainable, etc. I prefer using Dr. Hauska products which today remain the most easily available of the three. One of the remaining two was Jurlique, which at the time was difficult to get in NJ and within the last year has become a preferred brand on the shelves at Whole Foods. In other news, I actually went with another brand close to handmade out of Hawaii. I ordered it and it was cheaper than the Dr. Hauscka line but I think it sometimes required more effort, i.e. remixing lotions whose components want to separate, etc. If I was using Dr. Hauscka hand creme in the recent past I am pretty sure I wouldn't have had the three skin fissures/breaks. Its making me re-evaluate whether I should try to figure out how to generate $30 income(31.21 incl tax) to get a tube. I used to have some issues here and there but its been years... (Nap time. )

I use Gold Bond Ultra Healing on my hands and Ponds on my face. I rarely wear make-up, but keep the drugstore stuff on hand for those occasions.

I have washed my face with Noxema since MS or HS. I have been using Garnier Ultra-Lift Pro X on my face (and hands) for a few years now. I use whatever body lotion is on sale.
I have Bare Minerals make-up and I use Great Lash mascara for an "everyday look" and I have the False Lash mascara for when I want to vamp it up.

Moisturizer is Oil of Olay. I use the complete one with sunscreen year round. In the winter I have the Regenerist lotion with sunscreen. I use Clinique all about eyes serum depuffing eye massage at night.
I am currently using Ulta's brand of eye makeup remover. I use St Ives apricot scrub on my face and chest in the shower.
Hand lotion right now is a Bath & Body Works shea hand cream. Body lotion is usually Olay but I'm using B&BW body cream right now as my skin is super dry. I use their sugar scrub on my feet as well. I love the Sabon line of scrubs and moisturizers but they are pricey. I still have the jar of cream, I need to use some right now.
Most makeup is Bare Minerals. I use Maybelline Great Lash mascara. Lip stuff is whatever strikes my fancy. I use Blistex chapsticks. They sold this liquid infusion one for awhile and I love that stuff. Walmart and Target quit selling it. Amazon has a 12 pack.

I use Clean & Clear face wash, and their Morning Glow moisturizer. I like that one because it is oil-free and has SPF 15. My skin looks better now than it ever has. I keep a little tub of Nivea Creme on my desk at work during the winter for my hands and cheeks after I come inside. In my purse I have hand sanitizer and hand cream (Jergens right now, but the brand isn't as important.)
No makeup on a daily basis, just Chapstick or Blistex lip balm. I own a lipstick and I think an eye kit of some sort that I got free with purchase at the Clinique counter. I had bought their Dramatically Different lotion, which was nice, but it doesn't have SPF included and I got sick of the extra step.
ETA: Body lotion is a big pump bottle of Jergens or one of many Victoria's Secret bottles that seem to multiply when I am not at home.

I'm using an Olay total effects (?) moisturizer on my face right now, I had gotten a pot of really nice stuff from Lush but it's $45/pot, and I only bought it because I had a giftcard. No intention of spending that much real money on a moisturizer. I like this Olay stuff so far. Body lotion I'm using The Body Shop's cocoa butter lotion but I switch around. I barely wear makeup but I like MAC's stuff. Back in the day I used this lotion that came in a pink bottle called Nutriderm, but I can't buy it in stores anymore only available online. It was fine for my face and everything else.

Hey Shooby, I try and use less products on my skin (especially face) ... if I do then it's Nivea cream and Bio Oil. Can you find both in the USA? Oh and a touch of foundation too. I apply blusher and eyeliner for special occasions. Applying the eyeliner can take up some time.

I have lots and lots (and lots) of chemical sensitivity issues, so I make many of my own cleansers and lotions. It's not at all hard, just a little time consuming at first. Once you have everything assembled, its also cheaper than over-the-counter stuff with hidden, unknown and questionable ingredients. For recipes, Google is your best friend - there's an overwhelming amount of advice and recipes out there. I also really, REALLY like these folks: thebodydeli.com/I would use them more instead of making my own, but cost is an issue. But their stuff is unbelievable fabulous. John Masters Organics and Evan Healy are two other chemical-free product lines. JMHO from someone who is officially diagnosed with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities). YMMV.

BTW, why doesn't the makeup stick reach to the bottom of the bottle? That drives me crazy!

I have horrible skin - acne when younger, now very oily with large pores. I only started really taking care of my skin in my late 30s. Now that I do, though, my skin looks SO much better than it ever has (still bad IMO compared to most). Several decades of not wearing daily sunscreen has definitely taken its toll. Cleanser: Neutrogena Foaming Face wash (recommended by dermatologist) I use the Clarisonic scrubber daily which is AMAZING. Morning moisturizer/sunscreen: CeraVe (recommended by dermatologist) I also have an Rx for tretinoin cream that I apply every night with CeraVe heavy night cream. Last month I went to a fancy schmancy cosmetics store and got a makeover. I have to say the primer, concealer, foundation stuff is AMAZING - my skin looks so much better plus now it has even more layers of sunscreen. Unlike the above stuff, this was crazy expensive but now that I'm seeing the results I'm not regretting it. Plus, they taught me how to better apply makeup so that I look much better without looking heavily made up. My makeup application skills were previously stuck in the 90s. Primer/foundation - Peter Thomas Roth Concealer - The Balm

What about retinol? Or, are there any ingredients you look for specifically?
