I think he confessed to make those of you that believed his b.s. look bad.  Seriously - I think he realized nobody believed him and he decided to take the full brunt of the situation now to get it over with so he can move on. He got tired of looking behind his back. All I know is that it benefits him somehow and it had nothing to do with being honest. |

Well, i found him pretty straightforward. He didn't make excuses and was matter of fact. And, really what else is there to say? He didn't fall on his knees sobbing or begging forgiveness. He said he was a liar and a cheat and left it at that.

Okay - so here is a little new information that I got. He has (apparently) been training to be a triathlete, however, they are banning him from cycling, and they are still negotiating on if that would squash being a professional triathlete, too. He is hoping that publicly coming clean will help his case.

That may be but it seems like he really opened himself out for lawsuits and all kind of things for just the hope to participate in some triathalons. He is 40+ yrs old, he isn't going to be all that competitive at this point in his life with 20 yr olds.

I saw him on Oprah. He didn't look that repentant to me and he hurt a lot of people. I'm sorry doesn't cut it. That being said, no one in their right minds didn't think he wasn't doping. Shit, they dope in college, for Pete's sake. How dumb is the public supposed to be. His sponsors sure as hell knew it Nd didn't care, either.

Well, he admitted as such. What should he do now? Fall on his sword? If he was sobbing for forgiveness everyone would be calling that a fake waterworks show. He was very matter of fact and seemed to accept responsibility for his actions without making excuses for it. Not sure what else he could do. Now, that doesn't mean anyone should forget what he did or that he should be allowed to compete again, of course he shouldn't.
