Lol--just the cake part of it It looks like a big Oreo when it's done, I got asked for the recipe and I just wrote it down for the guy because it's easy to remember. One of them asked me about it and I said "yeah, I was lazy so I just baked an easy one". The response was "you went home and baked two cakes and that's lazy??" The lazy part was that I didn't bake it from scratch this time (man, these guys are spoiled ) Here is a link to the recipe, I use chocolate chips instead of baking chocolate, and sometimes I use coconut oil instead of butter. And I use half olive oil, half vegetable oil when I use a mix that calls for oil. www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/chocolate-covered-oreo-cookie-cake-90307.aspxAnd now back to the healthy stuff...

Ah. MY Oreo cake is an ice cream cake with crushed oreos as the base. You layer the oreos (with melted butter to form a crust); then ice cream; then choc. sauce; then whip cream and then sprinkle more crushed Oreos. No baking at all. *-*-*- DH burnt the split pea soup yesterday. Beyond salvaging. I wasn't sure I'd be able to salvage the pot at first. He had the flame up to high and left the lid off. Then fell asleep. Woke up to a smokey house. He turned the vent on but didn't clean or even put a lid on the pot, so having the vent on was fairly useless....

I hardly ever use oil in cake recipes. Try substituting Greek yogurt, low fat sour cream, or applesauce for part or all of the oil.

I knew about applesauce for oil but not the other 2. Interesting.

Lol! Why do you think one person had the sole job of pulling the wrappers off the stack in the assembly line process? It was because he'd perfected doing it and not tearing them up. You did meet her criteria in that aspect. ETA: Didn't notice a page after Beth's last comment about the wrappers. That's what I'm talking about. lol

That's what I'm talking about. lol It wasn't the pulling apart so much as sticking when I cooked them. I baked a couple of them and they stuck to the stoneware. And I did a bit of oil in a pan and it stuck there too. I may try deep frying next time. I don't really want to use that much oil.

She always deep fries and hers are never greasy, just make sure to keep the oil temp up so they don't sit in it too long and soak up a lot.

Another compelling reason to purchase part (or all) of a single cow directly from a rancher or other known source: news.msn.com/us/salmonella-linked-to-ground-beef-sickens-16-across-5-statesCommercial ground beef coming from a commercial butchering operation is the scraps and part of dozens (if not hundreds) of animals (coming from dozens if not hundreds of different feed lots) butchered on the same day - and often hundreds to thousands of animals butchered over the course of 2 or 3 days that get thrown together. The recall grows huge in a short amount of time because there is no way to track the problem back to an animal (or group of animals) - or even to a single day or group of days. Of course this does not guarantee that there will never be a problem, but purchasing from a single animal DOES greatly reduce your risk of contamination due to sourcing of multiple animals.

We get our ground beef at the store. They grind it in the meat department. So sometimes it's fattier than we'd like but at least it eliminates some of the worries/wonders about the meat. Fresh Market has it on sale ever few months so we stock up then.

I can skip the brownie, they're not my preferred chocolate.
But yeah, chocolate, ice cream, whip topping/creme filling stuff and Nancy's caramel sauce....

I haven't (yet...) I think I posted the cheese crackers I make earlier in the thread, those are really, really good.
I'm sure I'll make the ritz crackers, but I'm lazy so I'll just cut them with a pizza cutter into square shapes (but the same approximate size as a ritz).

I really, really need someone to show me how to do makeup! Love that look--I have similar skin, just a little lighter, hair is a little darker, and eyes are blue.

The writer of the blog is a makeup artist and she has dark brown hair and blue eyes and has many tutorials on how to apply makeup, with the make up she used and lots of video tutorials so you can see how its applied. Trust me, I suck at make up was well and it was frustrating that she never did makeup for blondes (I'm a blonde) with green or hazel eyes and she finally did

SO I am a very "frugal" gal and decided to take on the challenge of changing out spark plugs and wires in my car. I have never done it before; however, I've seen my dad do it as well as youtube . IF all goes well (doesn't seem to complicated) then I shall have replaced plus & wires for $45 instead of whatever a mechanic would charge. o.O Wish me luck

I made split pea soup yesterday, with parsnips, garlic, carrots, rosemary and sage. Plus whatever was in the broth DH bought. Pretty good. I also made tuna casserole as I had lots of leftover noodles (don't ask) but it was so not healthy.

Good grief, Twin! I want an update on how the spark plugs went! LOL sorry! My neighbor ended up changing them for me. I asked him if he had a gapping tool and he loaned it to me. Then I had to ask for help because whoever put the plugs in last time put them in super tight and I could not for the life of me get them loose. But OMG! I drive a seriously old car..well, not ancient, but older...I drive a 1991 Acura Integra and after replacing the plugs and wires, thing runs as if it were brand new! Couldn't believe how great it runs now! So your take away from this is replace your plugs and wires every 100,000 miles or when it starts to run stupid
