do you feel people are quick to say I Love You as an expression? I thought most men have a difficult time to say these words. In the movie London the boyfriend just could not bring himself to say I love you to his girlfriend; knowing how important it is to hear him tell her. He responds but I show you I love you.
True love is both IMO. Both show and tell I Love You.

Why do you have a count of how many times this thread is read in your title? You can see how many times if you look in the "Viewed" column on the main menu.

Now I'm thinking who do I tell I Love You to? and I mean in person, face to face, say the words I Love You. I can text it just fine, no problems or issues; send email as well.
Face to Face - GF of course. But I only told her once during 2012. Well after November 2011 only once. Before November 2011 I used to tell GF I Love You few times per week. Now I just show it.
I can't remember the last time I told my parents I Love You in person? I told my mom over text; and I really don't show it or maybe I do just / only show it? next week when I give my mom her food steamer she asked for I will tell her I Love You. When I leave out from visiting my parents I'll give my dad a hug and tell him I Love You.
I've told my brother I Love You twice in 2012. When I see him next year I'll tell him I Love You and Happy New Year.
And then there is my x-best friend. at this point I am pretty sure I will not see her anymore. I've never told her I Love You in person, only show and through text and email.
So 2013 I will tell the people - well family I Love You ;D

I noticed performers would end I concert I Love You, I Love You All Performers and Entertainers will say I Love my fans (but then turn around and wish they would be left alone by there fans) These are times of expressions

"I love you" is not a phrase I take lightly. I NEVER say it, unless I mean it.

I find that people who say it easily and too soon really don't mean it. Kind of an expression like "let's do lunch" or something like that.

Zaire, you've been saying the same thing for over a year now. Yet you still hound this woman to love you - why? I thought she made it clear to you already it's not going to happen.
PLUS you already have a live-in girlfriend - are you planning on breaking off with her before you continue chasing after the woman you'll never have? Or does she even know you're pining for someone else?

There are several types of love. They're not all the same. One doesn't love one's husband as one loves one's child; nor, does one love one's dear friend as one loves one's parents. Problems often develop when people confuse the different types of love and try to make them the same.

I, too, think people overuse the expression, but then again I really do love a lot of people. I love my friends and my family. As mmhmm stated, there are different kinds of love but there is really just "I love you" to express it vocally. I never utter those words unless I mean them. I've found some people will use it to get what they want and I have to really really mean it to say it. As to the other part of your post, saying it without showing it also would mean nothing to me. However, showing it without saying it might be a different story.

I am fortunate that I have not been taken advantage of by someone motivated to get what they want. I can't stand it when men use these words to get what they want from women cause they know it's what she wants to hear.

I know OF a guy that thought he knew what love is and got hurt; twice. so now he basically refuses to say I Love You, because he is unsure if he is actually in love.

She likes having Zaire in her life if and only if he is willing to be her friend at a certain level and no more. Zaire at least in the past has wanted more so as a woman usually your best choice in situations like these is to cut off all contact. While you enjoy the person in your life as a friend you don't want them in your life as a lover and it gets old when you keep feeling the push from that person to change the relationship to something you don't want.

I haven't followed the X best friend saga recently. that is because there isn't a saga posted by me. From the outside it seems pretty clear. She likes having Zaire in her life if and only if he is willing to be her friend at a certain level and no more. you just said you do not know what is going on. what makes you think I want more than a friendship? so I can say it's obvious to me that you feel a man and a woman can have a friendship without going into a relationshipZaire at least in the past has wanted more in the past? where are you getting your ideas from? I have never wanted "more" from my close friend so as a woman usually your best choice in situations like these is to cut off all contact. While you enjoy the person in your life as a friend you don't want them in your life as a lover lover? no I don't want my close friend as a lover. I don't want to be in a relationship with her. I guess it is unfortunate that you can not distinguish between having a friendship and a relationship. I have a person that started out as coworkers to friends, to best friends, to close friends over the years. she is a big part of my life.and it gets old when you keep feeling the push from that person to change the relationship to something you don't want. push for something I don't want? LOL - you are so off with the situationwe have told each other I Love You - but it's out of friendship! guess you have not had the experience of a close friendship before.

Now another point not raised here is that if a player tells you that ''I love you'' then you know that love is just a part of his/her game. Consider it bs.

Zaire, I'm pulling from what you have said in the past. I'm too lazy to find examples of you wanting more from your XBF. Maybe I've mis-remembered and you never ever wrote you would prefer to have XBF as your GF instead of current GF. You have posted numerous examples of you wanting more of a relationship with XBF than she is willing to give. It happens. I have had numerous friendships with the opposite sex and at a certain age the SO will always trump you. (Unless they are walking out on said SO.) Chill.

No point wasting your time trying to get through to Z - this obsession of his over his XBF been going on for over a year now - and it's going to keep on going.. and going... and going. You can come back in 6 months and nothing will have changed.

Love is not a noun but a verb. Saying "i love you" means nothing if there aren't actions that demonstrate it.

If they say it while making love, it is some kind of felt. Those people are on Jerry Springer a lot.

Sorry you are feeling so conflicted, Z. Emotions are a funny thing. Most of the time, they are great. Sometimes they are just confusing and hurtful. Hope you get it figured out.

I know OF a guy that thought he knew what love is and got hurt; twice. so now he basically refuses to say I Love You, because he is unsure if he is actually in love. Indeed, Zee. I tend to consider love to be one of those ideals that can never be completely realised. That is to say, it seems to have infinite depth and so one stands always to garner a deeper understanding of it with further experience. Conversely, those with little experience have but a shallow understanding, perhaps often confused with infatuation, emotional dependency, or some other impostor borne of naivety. Experience being key, I think, for when one experiences it first-hand it cannot help but trigger realisations as to its nature, and with further experience its nature is further revealed. Therefore, in the gentleman's case you note, I would prescribe perseverance.

I'm too lazy to find examples of you wanting more from your XBF. that is because I never mentioned my x-best friend before. so there is nothing for your lazy self to findMaybe I've mis-remembered CORRECT and you never ever wrote CORRECT you would prefer to have XBF as your GF instead of current GF. WRONGYou have posted numerous examples of you wanting more of a relationship with XBF WRONG! than she is willing to give. WRONG again!! It happens. I have had numerous friendships with the opposite sex and at a certain age the SO will always trump you. (Unless they are walking out on said SO.) what? you are so wrong you're not making any sinceChill. you say you had a friendship with the opposite sex - but you are so off about and wrong with this situation. I guess you have to have a relationship with your friends - I don't I feel men and women can be friends without sex - to bad you don't it looks like you can not determine the differeance between a friendship and a relationship - maybe you can consult with the spirit word for answers?
