Who's advice do you trust for rating and analyzing forward looking performance for stocks/bonds/funds?
I need to pay attention to my retirement & non retirement funds, but don't have time to do any in depth analysis myself. Additionally the market has been moving on rumor or common man fad basis for a few years. I don't feel like you can actually analyze financials and prospects very accurately anymore. Seems like the investing predictions were easier before internet trading was around (or maybe that's when company balance sheets were accurate :-))

Do not trust guru analysts from Wall Street, they are too often far from the correct call. I do pay attention to our thread on Long Term Investing. It may be slow, but it is quite safe and steady. Trading often spells Trouble (with emphasis on capital T). This is about as good as any for stat analysis... do it yourself.... finviz.com/ And good luck on "bringing home the bacon" in 2013 and beyond. I'm sure others will comment...

Yeah we tell you like it is - and don't bilk you for money !
The Long Term thread is great and the Dividend Investing thread has a lot of info also. Both Boils down to Long Term Investing of Large Iconic Companies with a history of Dividends. Examples are Coca Cola, Exxon , Cheveron, Kraft, IBM, Dupont, Intel,. They are large solid companies, with brands you probably buy or recognize. They are safe as they come.
I personally stay away from Mutual Funds as I believe they are a rip off and most underpreform. If you have to go with some steer towards the Index Funds -

Thanks, I will look at the LT Investing Thread. I have some index funds & some target funds, bond funds & a few stocks that I particularly prefer. Are there any indexes that are commodity based?
I have always stuck to things I know/understand so it means I haven't explored the market much outside of stocks and funds. I've been ignoring my portfolio for almost a year now & it's time to step up and get it back into some semblance of a 'strategy'!
