Update:
antevasin: 10/1/13 $1,424.77 (1/1/13 = $0; Goal = $25,000.00)
Total amount remaining to goal: $23,575.23
Total percentage saved: 5.70% Total percentage remaining: 94.30%
Updating for my September numbers. Had taken a bit of a hit for an unexpected expense, but will recoup the loss over the next 2 months. I am also re-evaluating my goals with school expenses, and may reduce my overall savings goal to offset school expenses.

Serious this time 10/11/13, $10,054 (6/15/13 $1,711, Goal $13,745)It looks like a good update this time, although I haven't updated for six weeks (three pay periods). Normal amount runs a bit above $900 per pay period and weekly savings creeps up a bit each time, so it's really just the regular update x 3, not a really good one. With 5 paychecks left until the end of the year, it looks like I should reach 100% in all categories. I have one more birthday to buy for this year. I'm budgeting $600 for Christmas gifts; I have two gifts purchased already. Out of this category I also take memorial donations and so on. I have one of those to write out today. I got the really big items, (property tax and insurance) taken care of for the year. Insurance is not due again until March 2014, and property tax (first installment) is not due until June 2014. I seem to be setting aside the right amount for the other things. Next year I'm going to add retirement savings and HSA to these categories. For those of you tracking retirement savings here, do you just track your deposits or do you add any match from your employer? And if they are invested in stocks or anything that fluctuates up or down, do you just track deposits without accounting for any market fluctuations? Somehow I don't seem like such a financial train wreck when I post updates here.

I track the Roth deposit (shooting for 6500 yr) not capital gains / losses. Also the TOTAL 401K deposit, mine + match. But that job's going away so I'll transfer that into my IRA

Serious, when I did track my stock purchases (building my EF) I started out tracking out the grand total but the downs (in the ups and downs) were such a downer that I just tracked my contributions. With my IRA, and my Retirement thru work, I would track the automatic contributions I would make but I thought it was so boring to track (because they were automatic)that I stopped tracking theme here.

Hi All......been away from here for a while and things have really gotten out of control. My savings has taken some major hits and since I lost my 2nd job, nothing has been replaced. My sons doctor bills and student loans are burying me right now as well. My goal right now it is get a handle on spending, figure out exactly where I am at, and pay off some bills by the end of the year. If I end up with some to put in savings...great but otherwise...not going to be my focus right now. Hope everyone is doing well....going to try and get caught up too! Teachermom

Ombud: $24,623 [1/1/13 $0 of $25,118] 9
2013 | GOALS | 9/30/13 | 10/30/13 | YTD | BAL DUE | % | GS1 2014 Band Trip | 1800 | 675 | 580 | 1255 | 545 | 70% | GS2 2014 Band Trip | 500 | 500 | | 500 | | | Prop Tax / Ins | 3250 | 3250 | | 3250 |

I think next year's goals are:
- GS1&2 band trip / Marching Band - 1650
- Property Tax / Earthquake Ins might be - 3450
- Roth - 6500
- Trips - 8000
- Holidays - 400
So that means about 20k next year. Of course, this will change

HI Everyone, I've been MIA as I've been dealing with my major illness and the rapidly declining health of my dear father. I have met all my savings goals as originally posted and I am happy about that. I plan to get back to tracking my savings on Jan 1, 2014. I've been on unpaid medical leave so I will have only one paycheck remaining in 2013 after I return from leave which will go towards Christmas and catching up. I've had a major operation just two weeks ago so I will have those bills to tackle as well. I feel great after surgery and I'm looking forward to reclaiming my health once I have doc's OK to exercise again. It's all good! I've been watching the thread and silently shouting "YEAH" to everyone's successes! I can't wait to join in the savings fun again in 2014!! Keep up the good work!

HapptCat - I'm sorry to hear that you've been sick! And that, on top of your dad - I hope your recovery goes well. Congrats on meeting all your original goals! Even if you're not tracking your savings here until January, I hope you'll keep us posted as you recover over the next several weeks.

Back to ground zero.
So far I have $4,300 saved I'm going to stop at $5,000.
Then I will pay down my highest CC and work on the low on too.
If all goes well, I will have my sculpture paid off by Jan.

UPDATE
I would like to change my savings goal by $1,000 to reflect the fact that the roof replacement cost $9,000 instead of the $10,000 I had been told. Fund | Goals | 1/1/2013 | Current | % Met | Retirement savings-2013 | $11,500 | 0 | $5760 | 50.09% | Rental roof replacement | $9,000 | $0 | $9,000 | 100.00% | Rental savings account | $13,285 | $2,585 | $8,989 | 67.66% | IRA - 2013 | $5,500 | $0 | $5,500 | 100.00% | HSA - 2013 | $3,250 | $0 | $540 | 16.62% | IRA - 2012 | $5,000 | $1,500 | $5,000 | 100.00% | HSA - 2012 | $3,100 | $0 | $3,100 | 100.00% | Holding account | | $0 | $0 | | Total | $50,635 | $4,085 | $37,889 | 74.83% | |
FemaleSam 11/7/13 $37,889 (1/1/13 $4,085 Goal $51,635)
