Did you teach your kids believe in Santa? If so age did they stop? Or did just tell them right the bat there is no Santa?

Oh my goodness, I can't believe someone would tell a little one that there is no Santa! It's so much fun to live vicariously through their anticipation, excitement, etc.. Christmas morning is wonderful to sit back and watch them open their Santa gifts. We have three children and there's an 8 year difference between the first and last. So that they didn't spoil the fun for the "baby", I told the older two that "he/she that does not believe in Santa and decides to tell their brother or sister, does not receive a gift from him." They are now 30, 27, and 22 and each still receives a gift from Santa.

No - we told them it was a fun story. They still get gifts from Santa.

We were careful how we told the kids about Santa. We never said he wasn't "real". We just said Santa is the spirit of giving. Cartoons & the guy at the mall playing Santa kind of made him real, but I think DD understood the concept early.

Their anticipation and excitement doesn't go away because the presents come from someone else. My kids are freaking hopped up, tazmanian devils on Christmas. The fact that they are getting a buttload of presents is what builds the anticipation and excitement. It isn't like they are all blazae, and sit there sipping tea with their pinky extended and say "It is nice that there are 32 wrapped boxes under the tree for me, but they all came from people I know and who love me - so it isn't a big deal. We will get to them later."

I have personally seen Santa, so I believe. So does DS who is 6. I'll keep it up as long as I can.
