My big pet peeve is apostrophe abuse. I'm sure I screw it up now and then but people need better proofreading skills when they're about to put a business sign or billboard. I used to drive past a sign every day on my way to work that said <<Town name>> Cottage's. ---------------------- I hate that! One is a plural and the other is a possessive. It's not rocket science. You don't have to drive around, looking at billboards. Just pop in to P&M.

If it was a chick, I would say she's getting her period so stay the F aways from her. Is he having a sex change operation and isn't feeling the love?

My assumption would be that instead of saying thank you for X, they are using the dots to imply thank you for X. No sarcasm suspected here, but you know the dot waster better than we do.

Oh come on some of you must remember Diver's posts where EVERY sentence ended with ......... No matter how many millions of times he was told to quit putting multiple dots at the end of each sentence he refused.

My boss just got back from 1.5 wk vacation (which is why I was stuck with the dot guy). I mentioned the guy is a little needy, in that he sends way to many emails about stuff we have discussed & then sends more if I don't get back to him instantly. My boss said he already knows how bad the guy is & we won't be working with this guy in the future. LOL.
So I think there is a lesson in being so detailed & worried that you can drive your clients nuts & not get repeat business.

I just don't see how the dots add up to sarcasm. Meh. Some of that may be my feelings towards the dude. My boss described his as rather thorough when doing stuff. That would be an understatement. He will send me an email at 4 PM one day and if he doesn't receive an immediate response, I will get the same email with "Do you have an answer for the below yet" 6 AM the next day. Which is more annoying, when the answer is the same as what I told him several days earlier to the same question, but he is just double-checking to be thorough. (I really had an urge to use quotes for double-checking & thorough there). So then when I answer his question & get a "Thanks..." response I can't help but feel he is annoyed that I did not manage to answer the initial email between 4 PM & 6 AM. Like what he means is "Thanks for finally bothering to answer my question" or something similar. Not the first time this has happened & whenever he asks a question twice (unnecessarily), when I get him an answer, the response is always "Thanks..." He probably is being an ass, based on the above. Which means you respond to each "Thanks........" with a big "You're Welcome!!!!!!"
