My friend received a letter stating her tax refund would be less than the amount figured in the tax return. Since it is one digit less (6 instead of 7) it may be a math error. No problem there.
But the amount direct deposited into her account was $113.71 more than the IRS said they would send.
Should she do anything?

was the "refund" a result of an amended tax filing? if so, then the IRS pays "interest" on the money.....
