Bad day... only 3 on the + side. Even Benchmark was negative. As long as the "fiscal cliff" seems possible, expect the market to be somewhat weak. This may go down to 11:45 p.m., 12/31/12, unless they want to let out some reasonable news in prime time that day. I am almost totally out of stocks now, outside of my Iras and 401-k. I cannot trust Obama, Reid, Boehner to do what is correct for the nation. I do believe after the Inaugeration, they will come to an agreement, restoring Government largesse and not only taxing the wealthy, but also punishing the middle class with new taxes. I will be re-investing probably in mid January. |

Yesterday's SEC suit against the Chinese units of the Big Four accounting firms could mark the beginning of the end for the U.S.-listed shares of Chinese companies, including for giants like Sina (SINA) and Baidu (BIDU). The accounting firms face a Catch-22: The U.S. requires them to share information from their audits in foreign countries, while China bars them from doing so.  |
