I have a Keurig, and this morning my coffee has grounds in it.
I'm too cheap to throw out 52 cents of coffee and make another cup, so I'm sitting here chewing my coffee and spitting out the little grounds. Luckily, it got cold - so I'm going to go it.
I find it funny that I will spend money on some things like I'm the frickin' Kardasians, but then I feel guilty about THIS.
What things do you have that you just can't do - even if the cost is something minor - like 50 cents worth of coffee?

I've done that with tea when the bag burst. I've drank it anyhow because I can't bring myself to it. Then I am spitting tea leaves out all day.
I used tobe that way about leftovers but then I gave myself food poisioning. Decided it is not worth the meager cents saved, if it isn't gone by the next day, out it goes.

Since my experience with food poisoning, I toss any leftovers after a day and anything that is expired regardless of whether it smells bad. I dumped 3/4 of a gallon of milk that was 4 days past its "use" date today because I am not going to put myself in the hospital again ($2400 bill) to save myself a couple bucks.

Parking downstairs is charged at $2.00 for the first 3 hours, $4 for 4 hours, $8 for 5 hours, etc. If you park downstairs all day, it ends up costing about $16.
So on the days I need to leave early, I park, drive my car around the block at 11:30 (paying $2), drive around the block again at 2:30 (paying $2) and then leave before 5:30 (paying $2 again). Kind of a PITA to save $10, but I just can't bear to pay that much for parking!

I feed the safe leftovers to the dog. Makes me feel better about not wasting it, and she loves the veggies & meat I do the same thing with my Keurig too. Won't make a new cup if I happen to get a bit of grounds. But if I am at work and there are some grounds in the pot, I have no problem dumping out the whole pot of coffee and brewing another. Probably because work foots the bill for that one

Well I am too cheap to even get a Kuerig.
I have a cheapo 4 cup (or my one big cup!) coffee maker at home, uses regular coffee, even one of those mesh filters so I don't even have to have coffee filters.

Exactly - I'll spend the money for the Keurig, but not one more cup.
Glad I'm not the only one.

I'm even cheaper. I drink the free sludge at work and go caffine free on the weekends.

I didn't care for the Keurig. They had one in our room on vacation. I didn't like the coffee and you couldn't easily adjust the strength of it and it wasn't hot enough. I don't get the appeal. I have a 4 cup pot, i just make 2 cups at a time of whatever i like.

I don't like them because they generate so much garbage. Blech.

I like Keurig - much easier than dumping out that filter. Especially at work, because the running water couldn't be further from my office and still be on this floor.
I think it is the ultimate lazy man's coffee. Woo Hoo! I think it tastes good.

I'm less than thrilled with my Keurig. I can't complain to SO because I begged for it last Mother's Day. I agree that you can't make it strong enough or hot enough.
There's no way to detach and wash the drop part where the K-cup goes in. So I have grounds in it that want to fall into my cup. I've tried a damp papertowel, but that doesn't work all that well. I'd like to take the vacuum to it, but that's just disgusting.

If you run it once without a k-cup in it, it washes everything out.

I have a mental picture of the pink panther doing this and I am laughing my ass off. I picture the face on your avatar as you're spitting out coffee grinds!!! I know, I am not normal!

I can not throw away egg yokes to make an egg white omelet. I tried it once but the waste gets to me too much. Now I only make an omelet if I have someone else to give the yoke to. I will put 3-4 yokes in pancakes or french toast or an omelet for my ISO then keep the whites for me. Eggs are only about 20 cents or less each I could afford to throw away a few yokes. I can't have yokes on my diet but whites are only about 10 calories so I could have several if only I could toss the excess yokes. I priced egg beaters and things and tossing the yokes is the cheapest.

Just make sure it dries before you rinse it (and use COLD water) to reduce the chance of scrambled egg in your hair. My hair is curly with all the issues that comes with it. It's never softer than after a good egg wash (I mix the egg with a couple drops of olive oil and apple cider vinegar first)

LOL Crone - I made pumpkin seeds last night, and my recipe calls for egg whites, and I was thinking "I should do something with those yolks" as I was washing them down the drain. I also was trying to figure it out if I had it in me to boil the pumpkin to get pumpkin filling. I ended up throwing out the pumpkin as well.

...tissues... for whatever reason, I will use a tissue and keep "squaring it" and returing it to my pocket until it becomes unuseable... and it's not like they cost a lot or that there isn't a box of tissues in every room of the house...

I priced egg beaters and things and tossing the yokes is the cheapest. I hate throwing them out also. For a while I would put them in a dish and put them in the freezer to use when I needed the yolk. They just sat there until I throw it away because I coudln't tell what it actually was it had been in the freezer so long. But my absolute best cheapo stunt, that I can't seem to stop is, when washing dishes by hand is I don't put dish soap in each pot to clean. No I have to put the soap in the biggest pot and run hot water into it. Then I clean it with that water but instead of dumping it down the drain and rinsing the pot I pour it into the next pot and so on. I know I picked this up from my Mom but even her doing it doesn't make sense. She was born during the depression but had hot and cold running water in the house from the time she was born. I my case I probably got the dish soap free with a coupon so why the heck am I trying to save a 20th of a tsp?
