I'm bored with what I do. It pays really well, but I don't wanna do it anymore.
I tried running for judge, I lost by 1% against the incumbent. I don't want to run for DA. No realistic judgeships opening up in the next few years I applied to teach at a college but didn't get the job.
I think I'll just keep treading water for a few years and run for judge again when ther is an opening.

Start smoking weed (or smoke more). You'll care less about being bored. Consider it research for a judgeship (i feel like that's a word but wouldn't bet my life on it) since we lose to prosecute dope smokers.

You know when you are driving your ATV down a trail and the tires are sitting at the bottom of a deep tire rut in the trail. The ATV drives along smoothly and comfortable, almost turning itself correctly down the path. But if you try and turn from your path and go in a different direction the road gets much bumpier and you can potentially flip over your ATV. If you successfully get onto a new path you realize you are still in the same woods.

We didn't come up with any solutions the last time you asked. You have undying faith in us.

What kinds of shiftyness did you pull in an attempt to win? Get some recently deceased people to vote via absentee? Shuttle some people in from out of town to the polls?

So then next time don't half-ass it. No wonder you're a failure...you clearly don't apply yourself.

A certain amount of boredom at work is nice. It means it doesn't take much effort and leaves me lots of energy for my other interests.

I have been in the same industry for 13 yrs. I am bored with what I do as well. I plan to do it for another 5-7 yrs then I don't know... I will be in my mid-40's by then and have no idea what I will end up doing. My boss will be retiring but I don't really have much desire to take her job. I just don't see myself in my present career for the next 25 yrs.

I want to run for judge. Not of a big county, or even my home county, but one of the backwater places where you work about 3 days a week and no one ever runs against you.
I'm lazy.

Sounds like someone found themselves a campaign slogan. "MidJD for judge, I'm lazy and your backwater county only needs a judge 3 days a week".

If there is anything we learned yesterday it is that people love to be accused of being "backwards" and "backwater" probably carries the same connotation.

Would "uneducated potato farmers with no access to modern medicine" be better? That is what we are here.

I think I misunderstood something. When you say you "ran" for judge you mean you joined a political party and bought ads ect to get people to vote for you? I just figured you meant you sucked up to the local powers that be to se if you could get the job.

ooohhh, that sounds really good and since I am already all judgmental, it will be a perfect fit for me.
Also, since I am almost over 40 and can't start my own business - I think it's clearly the way to go

I just figured you meant you sucked up to the local powers that be to se if you could get the job. I'm already a member of the democratic party. But yes, I got signatures to get on the ballot, got endorsements, went door to door, got the "qualified" rating from the Independent Judicial Qualifiaction Committee", bought ads, the whole shebang. I tried the sucking up part previously but it didnt work because the person that does the appointing is a republican and will throw his own mother under the bus if it benefits him politically
