Hopefully, some of you are reading, even if you can't sign in right now.
The source of the problem was a server crash, which I'd seen on the support forum. It's back up now but when I started hearing that people's accounts had been "poofed", I went back to support to see if other forums had the same problem.. Saw a thread by mmhmm... and had a PM from Martyn - their tech guy.
Quote: As you may have noticed, there were server issues a short time ago. An investigation into the issue shows that there might have been data corruption on the table which hosts your members. The diagnostics show the crash may have ate 19 of your members.
They're working on restoration now. If you have contact with any of the affected members off this board please let them know it's being addressed and not to create new accounts.

I was in the No-Insurance thread started by theCaptain earlier today and noticed a lot of people listed as "guests" I know one was WIBeth, don't recall the rest. Anyways I wanted to comment and tried to log in. I had a lot of trouble logging in from work and my smart phone. Finally I got in.

I was on a thread when the server crashed, and when I was able to get back on EVERYONE was listed as a guest. So I guess they took the server down again to fix it?

I'm not sure. I just know that there was data loss to the member tables.. I'm still waiting for a further update from Martyn.

Moon I'm on V5 , I'm taking your post #11 over to V5. I think SL is on V5 with me, I'm not sure cause it doesn't show invisibles to me.

Are we allowed to make suggestions as to whom shouldn't be "fixed"?

I don't know if anyone else was having this problem earlier (or now for those that are still locked out) but when I couldn't log in here, I couldn't log in over at the support forum either - I have "upgraded" my login to a single sign-on for all PB sites. anyway, you can't view support threads as guest, so that link might not help people that are locked out. what a mess, I hope it all gets worked out soon.

you *should* be able to view support threads as a guest because you can post as a guest over there.

exactly. I clicked on a thread header earlier and got the "you don't have sufficient permissions to view this thread" error. might be a wrinkle that Martyn and others are still unaware of. I'll pop over to the support forum and add that little detail.

hmm.....apparently, my global login has overridden my old password for the support forum....and the global login doesn't work.
can someone that's able to access that forum post about what I mentioned earlier (not being able to view as guest) AND that global logins seem to be having issues too? please and thank you ;D

I'm so glad our missing people are because of a server crash versus something else. I got the Bear and website wouldn't load but I thought it was a momentarily glitch or my DSL. I hope it gets fixed soon and their cyber identities restored.

As far as I can tell, all nineteen are among the top 40 posters by volume on the board. Needless to say: with 1,500+ members, this is not a coincidence.
