Dangers of the Mob Mentality and the Coming Dollar Collapse

SHTF Plan Editor’s Note: In the following article, Craig puts forth the very plausible suggestion that what we are seeing unfold in Egypt and throughout the Middle East could become reality here in America. At the onset of the crisis in 2008, those of us who discussed continued economic malaise and the global problems to come were branded as tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists, but many of the forecasts we made are coming to pass: Riots in the streets, insolvency of global financial institutions, sovereign debt defaults, rising unemployment, higher food costs, lower wages, and ever increasing values of hard assets in terms of paper currencies.

Though political uprisings and protests are, for the time being, isolated to the middle east and some smaller European countries, as governments and the power elite continue their interventionist policies of wealth destruction of the middle class and enrichment of the aristocrats and corporate powerhouses, we can expect to see the system as we have come to know it progressively deteriorate. As Craig rightly points out, the people can only take so much, and when austerity measures (forced spending cuts) take hold and inflation begins to run rampant, the people will get poorer. Craig asks, “What would happen if the welfare, food stamps and unemployment payments ceased?” What would people do if the dollar collapsed and commerce came to a stop because of looting and the public’s inability to procure goods through the use of our existing currency system? I think most of us know the answer.

At this point, the coming collapse of our currency, our inability to pay our debts, and the trillion dollar burdens of entitlement programs cannot be stopped. Hard times are imminent - for millions, they’re already here. While concerned Americans can continue to work to change the system for the better, it is clear that the coming tidal wave of disaster cannot be stopped. Millions of our fellow Americans will eventually take to the streets, because they simply didn’t see it coming and won’t have any other choice except to make choices that they would abhor today. The only thing you, as an individual, can do is prepare for the worst, and do it now. Be prepared to depend on yourself, family and close friends during this coming period of “restructuring,” as Craig refers to it. If it happens, and we believe that the warning signs all point to this possibility becoming reality, it will be chaotic, violent and dynamic, meaning you need to expect the unexpected.

God help us all if food stamps, welfare, unemployment, and all the free medical and housing, day care, etc. that goes with it comes to an abrupt end. We have guns here-- (why do some think guns should be outlawed?) Lots of these welfare people are lowlifes that have guns. Fortunately, lots of the newly unemployed are not welfare people, although they are playing the role right now for the first time ever. Everyone has guns. Yeah-- I can see it happening here, but faster. Guns kill faster than rocks, and the newly unemployed gun owners vs the welfare rat druggie gun owners.......yeah, it would be bad, especially when our new (pro-eugenic) gov't gets involved. Hell-- they would like to see them ALL dead, because none of them are paying taxes....................

I spoke with one woman who had gone to Welfare, and was then at my church looking to pick up food at our pantry. She was practically in tears stating how she use to work on the other side of the desk, at some place called "One Stop", years earlier (some kind of Charity I guess?). She just couldn't believe that she was now on the needy/receiving side of the desk.

It's happening right now, in just about every state across the nation, and the corrupt media is not covering it in fear of costing them their Liberal criminals currently in office.

I Post boomer savings rate

What is going on is the boomer are savings more like 15% (as the depression generation did during WWII).. They do not believe in the SS system or Stock market to pay their way during retirement. As far as your numbers go, Richard Fisher President of the Dallas Federal Reserve has a somewhat higher number then your 1 Trillion USD... Like 96 Trillion USD for the next 50 years... We have a 16 Trillion dollar economy if you add back in the unreported income from cash deals. SS amounts to about 7.6% of the total GDP vs 20% for France and Germany. Estonia Taxes for SS and Medicare together is 33%.. Se we are on the cheap side of welfare in the total world picture.. Now for savings from adding $5,000 catch up to the 401k or 403b older then 50 group.. Deferred taxes and increased savings!!!

I think your statement is way too broad.. None of the local powers in my area are Liberal. As Dr. Grant my government teacher at Tarleton.." The power of the governed to remove the power from the professional power brokers will reduce the power of the dealers of votes.. The more educated the less power the brokers have. " I posted a comparison of the USA SS system with many of the world.. Our SS system is solvent and one of the cheapest in the world.. It is a bond buying Trust that earns about $50 Billion USD a year in interest...Q1 is the lowest income group and pays the best .. Esp for the single and that is why many question getting married after 50 years old so go for the gold and be a SSSS.
