Wonder how well they can stand up to the competion over the coming years. Personally, see some high risk here. But, of course, there is some risk in any investment. wxyz and other are probably more qualified to properly answer your question. Look for some of their comments soon.

He would be better off with going with a company like Intel - Research in Motion is in danger of becoming obsolete soon. Blackberry's have been replaced and the technology is like comparing Old Black & White TV with todays Plasma sets - no comparison at all. The only thing keeping them afloat right now are the Companies that haven't replaced their employees phones yet. You can bet as soon as they can they will be replaced by an Apple or Android.
So my opinion is HECK NO !

I wouldn't buy the stock either, but there are people out there who really (and I mean really) like that keyboard. They'll be phased out over time IMO.

Given that Mobile Tech (Tablets, Smart Phones, Etc.) are evolving as fast as they are and the state of flux that this creates as Mobile Devices (And Win 8) try and force folks off of desktop PCs - It might actually be far smarter to Put some Speculative money to play in the Companies that make the Parts for the Devices.
Companies that make - Memory, Processors, Screens, LCDs, LEDs Etc... A motorola or a Rimm could vaporize due to folks liking a new toy better - but the companies that make the Parts that actually make the "Toy" will have decent prospects..

Did you also see the downward Subscriber trend? Over 1 Million lost - granted they still have 79 million right now ( subscribers) but as corporations switch to smart phones - for me - the writing is on the wall !

Hmmn, hindsight is great. This would have been a big winner this quarter.

I still believe it will not last - Only the Mysterious "Million phone Purchaser" saved them ! Want to bet it was the Canadian Government that ordered 1 million phones? Time will tell but I still would not invest.
