I bought some wooden items to paint for Christmas. They are made out of luan board. Very thin. They need a base coat before I can paint or stencil on them. Can someone tell me what kind of paint to buy? Acrylic paint? Glossy? Thanks for your help.

Acrylic is fine. Or Glossy. Might take a coat or 2 but either would work. Test on the back or scrap piece first. Allow it to dry before thinking its what you want. And have fun!
