Kinder Morgan (KMI) is giving your three options:
1. Cash for stock 2. Cash and KMI stock 3. KMI stock for your shares of EP
What would you do?

KPI, I'm going to refer your question over to the Start Investing board.
Most of the investing experts are there.

There is an interesting alternative to KMI...SE.. They were part of DUK.. The produce ROE of some 11.91% vs 7.10%... We sold ElPaso many years ago. Thoughts of the pair, BiMetalAuPt

Here are some #"s on SE. It is down 30% this year but looks like it might have put in a bottom. May not be a bad place to jump in. seekingalpha.com/article/1087011-analyzing-spectra-energy-s-debt-and-risk?source=marketwatchTy, I know.. I thought KMI with a negative 3 million of net tangible assets would not be understood by many. Your point about KMI being over-leveraged is very true.. 30 million in total assets with only 3.3 million capital is way too over-leveraged for most of the investors ( 12/31/2011 books) I do have to say my holdings are 100% house money as this was from a merger with CIN that DUK gave to me. Love the dividends from SE!!(4.4%). I have no plans to sell and I would not like to see the price increase until I stop buying. Thank-you for the data, BiMetalAuPt
