Notice my clever candidate-neutral last name !
If so, were polls crowded ? Did you stand in line very long, or just breeze in and out ?
We had already voted by absentee ballot so we didn't have to go out. Age has its perks, in some cases. In our state, if you're a certain age, you can automatically vote by absentee ballot.

Not yet. I'm still waiting for my absentee ballot. In 2010 it showed up on election day, after I'd already gone in and voted on a provisional ballot of course. If it's not there when I get home, I'll have to go in and fill out a provisional again. I don't know what incompetent nincompoop is responsible, but they really need to get their act together. I get my sample ballot like two months before the election, but they can't get me a real ballot until the day of or later? *shakes fist* My wife, a registered Dem, has gotten hers weeks early both times. I'm decline to state and have issues getting mine. If I was a more paranoid sort I'd read something into that. To answer your question though, no I won't be voting for RoBomNey. I'm voting for dick... or johnson... or whatever that phallic bastard's name is.

I voted for the first time today I'm so happy. I became a citizen during 2011, and this is my first election.

No wait which is good because I dragged the kids with me to watch and learn and so I could force more of my political, social, economic, spiritual, and philosophical views on them in the process. That's my God-given right as the parent who carried them in my womb for 7/9.5 months and fed them from my very own body for the first year or two. ;D We are having a good, cynical laugh today, though. Massachusetts says you can now have your car repaired using computer codes at any repair shop, not just a dealer; but that you cannot die with dignity, although...you can legally (at least under state law if not under federal law) get really, really stoned while you're terminally ill and anxious about it.

I was *really* surprised Question 2 was as close as it was. I posted that on my FB page, and asked if anyone minded sharing why they voted the way they did. surprisingly*, the discussion was quite civil. personally, I don't think it's good that it was defeated, but that's just my two cents. *surprising because I have friends all over the political spectrum. some can be volatile when

I've learned the hard way to just not discuss politics other than in vague, general, humorous ways. Your friends and family are obviously way more mature than mine. ;D

Okay, I'll come clean. I want a pony, so I voted for Vermin Supreme. If the link doesn't work got to Youtube and search Vermin Supreme. Don't write him off because of his absurdity -- his campaign is actually a very clever statement on the political system.

I had one spouting off that I was being condescending for starting my reply with a sigh when she posted that she wondered whether she'd need to give birth in her shed, who knows with Obamacare. mind you, she lives in MA. as far as the discussion on Question 2, one guy came in totally joking about how unacceptable it was to have a civil political discussion. for the most part, I my friends and their ability to respect that people don't always agree on everything.

Took me longer to park the car.
I dropped off my absentee ballot. 3 election officers and no voters at 3:30 pm yesterday.

Got to the polls at about 8:55 back out to my care before 9:05 and we still have the fill in the box ballots. Of course if I would not have had to write in Ralph Nader it would have gone even faster.

I waited an hour and 15 minutes in line, took all of 2 minutes to fill in the ballot, was walking out as the polls were scheduled to close. Lines were still huge.
I'm in Podunk USA, I can't believe hardly anyone else has had a long wait.

I got to the polls a little before 5, waited for about 20 minutes, spotted DH at the back of the line, so went to wait with him. We left at about 6:30.

Gee Mid, how come you didn't give your DH cutsies instead? I waited in line for over two hours. I think next time I'll early vote. My four year old had fun playing with the other kids there. I kind of cringed but hopefully he didn't bother everyone too badly.
