This is the group that performed. They are more dressed in this clip. 3 of the dancers were high school girls and the other is the teacher...

The video comments state the students are from the College of the Siskiyous, Yreka. Or is it the teacher teaches anyone who wishes to learn and her studio is at the college.

She also teaches at the HS. The dancers were high school girls for this event.

I'm ok with the Tattoos... assuming they aren't blantantly sexually explicit - I'd cringe at the prospect of a kid asking "Why does he/she have a penis/vagina tattoo'd on their arm?' or "what is that donkey doing with that lady?" and I don't have kids... ::shudder:: I've seen some tattoos I wish I could unsee...
As for the teacher belly dancing at school rallies (publicly) I'd put that in the category of Teachers kissing pigs, getting hit in the face with cream pies, or the teacher with the weird science-y hobby doing something for school 'morale'...
In grade school we had a group of parents who insisted on singing (choir kinda thing) at every event.... sometimes they'd dress up in weird outfits (to match their singing - barber shop quartet - or bunnies or clowns or whatever).

It isn't the same. She's an exhibitionist and likes to flaunt what she thinks she's got.

Is she the plump one? Lol. I actually thought it was too funny that SHE was called ShastaBelly when your old screen name was Shasta. Doesn't life have tons of ironies like that?
It's not something I would ever do (it took me forever to wear capris on casual Fridays even though I dressed them up with shirts, shoes, etc.), but that's not the standard here. The dance isn't "dirty." I'd have to know the context for the pep rallies. Does she dress in the school uniform or something? A teacher just standing in front of the assembly doing their talent . . . whether it's singing (except the alma mater or National anthem) or ballet or gymanstics or belly dancing . . . would be odd unless there was some context. The talent show is a context. What is the context for the pep rally?
However, I would also lighten up a little. Modern teachers aren't quite the role models that our Puritan forefathers envisioned. I know a few who live with their boyfriends, I know a few who are gay and only "hide" it by not flaunting it, and at least one unwed mother. Teachers don't take a vow of chastity, poverty, or any of the other things that many of you expect. You can be a talented teacher without being a saint.
Does that mean I want someone who is a poor role model teaching my kids? (Disclosure: I should say "grandkids" because my kids are grown.) Absolutely not. But I don't think teachers have a completely different standard just because they teach.
Our administration recently organized a get-together at a local tavern for Happy Hour. That would never have been done when I started teaching. But how many of your jobs does something similar? Is it that wrong? By the way, I didn't go. I only do Happy Hour at home.

I'd be more upset that she doesn't know how to belly dance & is 'teaching' others to belly dance, than anything else.
What is wrong with a belly dance art/talent display?

School sanctioned belly dancing by a teacher - no bueno. It's wrong. I am in a conservative "confirmed Romney" state however.

I see nothing wrong with the dancing in that video.
