Once I was in the local gas store, I witnessed an employee being rude to a customer when their debit card machine would not work and that was the only way he had to pay. I sent an email to their corporate office stating that the treatment of a customer in that manner was unacceptable. The person at corporate passed it on to the store manager who then shared the email with my name and number to the offending employee. Low and behold I began getting crank calls in with the number blocked in the middle of the night. When I called and told them I suspected it was their employee, they would not address it. I asked if my name was given to her and they denied it. I finally had to pay my phone company to trace it and file a police report to prove it was her. The police did confront her and she had to do community service. I did get an apology from the employee but the corporate office never acknowledged the stupidity of how they handled it or that I was correct about by claim that the calls were from her. I avoid using that store as much as possible.

I boycott one of my local Chinese restaurant. They make the best general tso's, but I won't step a foot into their store. My DH convinced me to try something different the last time I went, some dish he had eaten somewhere else. When I got it home I found it inedible (even DH, who knew what it should taste like, said it wasn't right). I called to tell them it wasn't good, they apologized and said they would give me something else, if I brought it back. I ate there quite a bit, so I was a good customer. It is rainy and miserable, but I go back, because I was in the mood for Chinese food. When I get there the guy counts the shrimp left in the container and says that because we had eaten 3 of the 5 shrimp (it was a big mix of meats, but I guess there were only 5 shrimp and DH had picked 3 of them out) he wouldn't replace it.
That was 6 years ago and I haven't been back. I have learned how to make my own General Tso though.

I wish I could boycott the IRS. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced when I called to ask a question about the home buyers tax credit.

Very long ago when I was young and trying to buy a car the usual cliché story happened, I got treated like a ditsy brain-dead twit by the Mr. Macho-Knowitall sales rep. he even went us far as to tell me that it’s ok for me to choose the car I want but he would wait with starting the paperwork till I got ok from my husband (I was still single at the time). Till this day I like that bran of cars but since they are the bran’s only dealership in my town I always drive elsewhere to buy. Over time it cost them at least 4 cars worth of purchases from me alone, not counting the people I talked out of buying there too.

Years ago when my older son was working on his Eagle project he contacted a home improvement store. They told him they could not help him with any donations. He asked for about $200 worth of lumber. So he contacted the other big home improvement store. He was given lumber, nails, stain, etc... for his wood project. That was over 10 years ago and we haven't been back to the first store since. And we do ALOT of home projects. Not to mention we are the biggest scout troop in the county and told all of the other parents what had happened.

I think being upset with a store not giving a donation to an individual isn't right. I don't know if the scouts are supposed to ask for donations but expecting $200 worth of free product seems extreme.
