For the last few years my mother has decided to use me as a sounding board every time she gets mad at my father. It has gotten really bad the last year. Last fall she asked if she could move in with me because she was going to file for divorce but she never did. She ultimately decided she would rather live in the house on the lake rather than get divorced so she is still there but apparently miserable. At what point is it ok for me to basically tell her to shut up I don't want to hear about it anymore? I get that she need somebody to talk to but I don't really think I am the most appropriate person to talk to about her marital problems since I am their daughter. Any thoughts?
