what a 'ward of the state' is? Last year you all helped me through the mean mother in a nursing home problem. I am such a sap. She's been nice for a year. Now the true mother is starting to show. I don't even want to pay her bills anymore. I want to give her to the state. But I don't know what that means.
Flaming me for wanting to do this is OK. Just keep in mind she is a monster.

does that apply to adults? I only know it as children that are under the guardianship of the state, like foster children.

FRANK: I would like to hand over all her money and belongings and be done with it. I've never signed any papers to say I would take care of her. I don't even want POA or anything that invovles her. If she were a ward then all of this is off me and on them? I don't want her being abused or anything. Just the hey out of my life.

If your county has a dept. of aging that is probably the best place to start. I remember you sharing on the previous boards that your childhood was challenging, I think you've certainly done your share for a person who never embraced their own responsibilities. I have a sibling who I had to cut loose because any help at all was too much and if you did anything you could never do enough.
