But...the McCain/Palin campaign manager said voting early or sending in absentee ballots was a good thing for the Republican party.
If it was good enough for Republicans McCain and Palin to promote it, it should be good enough for Obama to utilize it.

But he's not a Republican, so it is no longer good for the Republican party and must be destroyed.

The candidates voting is just a photo op. Isn't it cheaper to just stay home and therefore keep all that security detail home? They can't campaign on election day can they?

DH and I have been voting by mail for years. It started back when we had a long commute and could not get to the polls before they closed. So we signed up for absentee voting. We really like it. We'll sit down and go over the ballot discussing how we are voting and why - we generally vote for the same people, but sometimes didferently on the referendums.
If we have a question, we'll look up the answers on the spot.
I like not having to drive somewhere, find parking and stand in line.

Laterbloomer, the security detail will not be sitting at the White House on election Day. The President and Michelle will be out and about promoting people to go to the polls. Something they refused to do. Security will be working overtime that day

I just wanted to point out the President will not be sitting idly by at the WH on election day, as Laterbloomer might have thought. Of course, if he knows the race is over, he just might hunker down and start changing the locks on the door. Who Knows?

This is thread worthy because....? ...because VB ran out of things to whine about? [image] And the point is? Yeah? So? could it be because of this? They are the first Presidential couple to have not voted on election dayAgain - yeah? So? As long as they vote, who CARES how (or when) they do it?

They would never allow it. Internet voting would allow the public to hold referendums on individual matters. It would become more like a democracy than a republic. A democracy can't be bought or controlled nearly as easily. So rest assured. Says the person who isn't doing any buying.

Again - yeah? So? As long as they vote, who CARES how (or when) they do it? More, breathless, manufactured outrage.... ;D
