Will go back to CGA (LONG) China Green Agriculture after a bad last week. Fertilizer for the fields of China, plus. www.cgagri.com/10.53 am .... stumbled out of gate. Guess I need to go to bank and buy a load of magic oats and feed this horse. Needs some motivation.

I missed the start out of the gate this morning. Was so depressed over my White Sox giving their division away this weekend, and then I had the golf meltdown at Medina where the Americans totally collapsed to the Europeans for the Ryder cup, in unbelievable fashion, I failed to log in and pick another loser........ Tonight, I must face Dallas versus Da Bears, and fear I willl face another meltdown on Monday night footballl.

'Ole Blue.....If CGA is to run, will need a ton of magic oats; but, then he might overindulge and get bloated and just fall flat on the track. Really do not expect anything to spur him to run hard this week. Probably will creap up a little at a time for a month or two.

Just wondering : do you invest in penny stocks? I try to stick to stocks > $5 as mutual funds won't buy under that plus they tend to be less volatile. But I notice a few tracking well under that. So do own them or explore them?

If you are asking me, the answer is yes, but note they are blown down US listed small cap China RTO's. I do own shares in CGA, CMFO and TPI with which I have played this game. I in no way make any recommendation on these as they are EXTREMELY RISKY and are long term holdings (looking at 2015, should I manage to live so long.)
Ombud, it is ALWAYS best to stick with what you know and feel quite comfortable with if you are a thoughtful investor out to make money, not lose it. Pure gambling in low priced stocks is for those who have the means to take wild chances and can clearly afford to lose with no worries one way or the other. JMPO

So do own them or explore them? And I know you aren't asking me but I've played with a few also. Mine have been all over the board as far as what industry...I've lost a bit & I've made a bit. The one I made the most on...I had forgotten I even owned it until a closer look at my holdings...and was surprised it was 5X what I paid...so I sold it ALL! I'm like Mod though, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! And I only played in them after doing LOTS of research & just lurking on a couple of penny stock message boards for over a year. I haven't done any lately!

Then there's the guy that said: " well, I have a few penny stocks; but they weren't penny stocks when I bought them".

My Take On Penny Stocks is that they are equivalent to Lighting a Road Flare and dropping it down your pants in most cases. You don't really know what is going to happen, but generally you know that it will probably go very badly.
