Can anyone explain to me in SIMPLE terms what all that was about the v5 BETA? And now I don't see the announcement about it. So what was it, what was it supposed to do and is our board going to change? Do I have to go to another site & sign up like I thought it was telling me to do?

The way I understand it is Proboards is going to update their site and change their set up here. Things will appear different in maybe a few months. So Moon gave us a link to sign on now for a test run to learn your way around. But you won't have to do anything special HERE because when Proboards makes the change it will be automatic and we won't have to do anything but learn the new ways to do things. This place will also look different and have more features. We will lose things like karma but gain "like" sort of like Face Book. So if you want to practice now you can go where rovo just said (pinned on the EE board) and sign in and you can still use your name here to learn it now or you can wait like I'm planning to do and whine about it then when things change and you are confused.  Knowing both Moon and Virgil they will fix things we love here, if at all possible, so we won't flip out and bug them unmercifully. This will not be Moon or Virgil's fault - this will be Proboard's fault. The End. ;D |

It's official so don't whine about it. Go and learn or take an extended vacation from here when it happens. Or else I'll be taking an extended vacation from here when it happens if your all whining over it. I'm one of the smart ones who signed on already and I'm learning stuff.  |

I don't do facebook or any other social sites. I go to boards like this one or for specific subjects like gardening. That's enough to keep up with. And like some folks have said about facebook....why would I want to get in touch with someone from high school who I didn't like back then? Besides that, I'm in touch with a slew of my high school classmates thru emails. We will be celebrating our 50th class reunion next year! I'm old! ;D I try not to whine much but some times I have to ask for help or explanations....I'm not that computer/tech savy! But I'm still learning and I keep trying!  |
