What is it going to do to our stocks besides raise the price of oil? Anyone have any good guesses?

Obama has formally informed Congress of sending security troops into Libya & Yemen. Does that change anything? Will that make military contractors stocks go up?

kadee... things will play out more clearly in a week or two, after the smoke has cleared, and more common sense begins (hopefully) to take hold. The election in Nov will tell us more too. We know quite well what to expect if Obama is reelected. Romney is a question mark, probably much more confrontational in foreign relations and it would appear more supportive of the military/industrial complex. So if Romney is elected it would likely give the defense contractors a market boost. <just the way it appears to me>

I've never seen any common sense come out of the ME yet. Yes, Oil and Gas will go higher. Over the last 4 years , we as a country, could of helped us as a country, to get us closer to becoming Oil Independent. Thank you Private Enterprise for leading the way so far in that endeavor. Obama was a question mark when he was elected, and after 4 years, another question mark may not be to bad at this point in time to have in place going forward. JMO

My gut says, probably nothing. The whole thing will blow over in a week, and be all but forgotten about in a few months. Just like that preacher in Florida that organized a koran burning. It gets people riled up for a bit, then blows over, until the next moron comes along and does something stupid.

I'm not going to react to the situation, except to buy some stocks if things get really ugly. I guess we will see just how fast this "thing" will "blow over".
