rubyslippers- I will check my stash first thing in the am to see if I still have any. marvholly- I agree the Socratic method is invaluable. Just telling them means nothing in the long run. Kind of like "because I said so"

HUH!?!? No wonder our country lags behind so many others when it comes to math and science. Why would someone take such a simple concept and make it so complicated? I know it's a Friday afternoon, but I've had to read these posts about 3 times each to understand what on earth was going on. It scares me that I have a PhD in science and I will not be able to help DD with her elementary math if it's more complicated than this!Ridiculous, isn't it? The schools keep saying that they want parents to get involved in the education of their children. Really? REALLY? It's obvious that the text book authors/publishers certainly do not [/quote] They aren't the ones that have to teach it, either! I don't like this new stuff. I don't know what was wrong with the way I learned it.

Completely NAG: Has anyone else ever tried to give a pill to a cat? OMG...one of my kitties had to have a tooth pulled yesterday, so she has abx twice per day for 10 days. I'm not sure we're all going to make it that long! It is a 2 person job, and they make you feel soooo guilty about it. Last night, I am on the floor trying to get her out from under a chair, and I found myself talking to her, saying things like "you have to have it, baby" and "it will make you feel better". After we were done, my DH starts laughing and said he thought the educational component was very important! LOL!! herekitty: that is so funny, and I have been there!! Last time we had to give one of our cats meds for a while, we had them give us a liquid that we could suck into a little syringe. It was much easier than poking a pill down his little throat. My husband would hold him up over his shoulder, and I would hold his head still and slip the tip of the syringe into the side of his mouth. He didn't like it, but at least we got it down.

Does anyone have any Rotel tomato and/or Hunts Ketchup coupons they won't be using? One of our little area stores are having a huge sale on these items next week. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks. rubyslippers: I have quite a few of the $1/4 coupons. Send me a PM with your address and let me know if there's anything else you need. And how many of the Rotel coupons can you use? I can send you as many as 12 or 15 if you want them.

I talk to my bunch all the time..........doesn't go too well with the deaf one, but Coal seems to understand English pretty well. He was getting cranky and Vince said something about him being a "Devil spawn" and Coal reached out and scratched him!

Frugalsuz, this happened at the Walgreens last month on the Tylenol Precise. They had it for $5.99, I had a Wags catallina for $3.99 off, and they were giving $3.00 RR. When it didn't print when my order was complete, I asked the cashier who said she couldn't help me and I would have to speak to the manager. So, I asked to see the manager. Waited like 15 minutes for her to show up. She went back to the register, located my coupon and said they do not issue RR with catallinas. I pointed out that it said "manufacturers coupon" but it didn't make any difference. She equated it to using a rolled RR on a "same" product. Wags RR's are not like CVS' EB.

Discover card Reminder There is a 5% cash back offer for March only for drug stores & grocery stores. I believe the limit is to $200 in purchases. This s/b good for any OOP at WAG, RA, or CVS in addition to your regular grocery stores. I do NOT believe ethnic, specialty or fr/veg markets count. You need to call or sign up online.

I have been saving them just in case they have a RR deal on that product. I guess I can dig them out of my "loose coupon drawer" and toss them out.

Anyone have any opinion on the Barber Foods Stuffed Chicken Breasts? I used to get the Cordon Bleu fairly regularly, but I haven't had them in years. They used to be decent, but got pretty expensive. I have occasionally seen coupons for them.

Hound Alert! Dollar General has the smaller bottle of Gain fabric softener for 3.25, so .25 with the coupon in today's paper. And, miraculously, I actually got the coupon ! I'm going to check them out at Rite Aid first, but, if they aren't free, I'll probably use mine at DG since my stockpile of Snuggle is almost gone. I'll pay .25 a bottle if necessary.

Well, it's been another busy morning of hounding for dancinmama!! WalMart $18.36 (17) Garden Delights Pasta (spaghetti and rotini) - 17.00 (17) $1/1 ANY Garden Delights Pasta 1.36 OOP Rite AidTransaction #1 $12.00 (6) Dove Deodorant 9.98 (2) Maalox 2.03 Sales Tax 24.01 Subtotal - 2.00 (2) $1/1 UPs (Food) - 12.00 (6) $2/1 Dove Deodorant (1/30 RP) - 10.00 (2) $5/1 Maalox (1/9 SS) .01 OOP --> (3) $2UPs (Dove) / (2) $1UPs (Maalox) Transaction #2 $ 8.00 (4) Dove Deodorant 4.99 (1) Maalox 1.20 Sales Tax 14.19 Subtotal - 1.00 $1/1 UP (Food) - 8.00 (4) $2/1 Dove Deodorant (1/30 RP) - 5.00 (1) $5/1 Maalox (1/9 SS) .19 OOP --> (2) $2UPs (Dove) / (1) $1UP (Maalox) Transaction #3 $7.00 (2) Colgate Advanced Clean (5.8 oz) .65 Sales Tax 7.65 Subtotal - 6.00 (3) $2/1 UPs (Dove) - 1.50 (2) $.75/1 ANY Colgate (1/30 SS) .15 OOP --> (2) $3.50UPs (Colgate) The reason that I spit my transactions at RA (they were all on the same card) is so that I paid the least amount possible in sales tax for my OOP. My sales tax is almost 10% and if I work it right, most of the time I can get my OOP pretty low. My sales tax alone at RA today was $3.88, but I was able to get my OOP to $.35 by breaking up my transactions the way that I did. Today I spent $9 in UPs and $.35 in OOP and got back $20 in UPs for a profit of $11 in UPs. WAGs $8.97 (6) Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner BOGO @$2.99 5.99 (1) Arnicare 2.99 (1) Reach Floss 1.50 (1) Hostess Donettes (needed a filler and I was hungry!! ) 1.66 Sales Tax 21.11 Subtotal - 10.00 (1) $10/1 Neuragen RR - 2.00 (1) $2/1 Arnicare IP pdf - 2.00 (1) $2/1 Reach Floss (10/10 RP) - 4.50 (6) $.75/1 Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner (thanks ohiositter and misspt) 2.61 OOP --> $6RR (Arnicare) / $2RR (Reach Floss)

To the ONE "hound" that bought up ALL 40+ Dove deodorants at RA today - I hope the coupon karma fairy bites you in the butt!! (Hound is in quotes because I know this lady is just a greedy woman and not a true hound! Who on earth needs over 40 deodorants?)

I just did two small things today. I am going to be moving soon and so I have backed off (yes, I know...I just really got started).
Rite Aid (2) Gain dish soap $.87 each (3) GE spiral bubls $2.99 each (1) 2 bar Dove. (needed it) $2.99
used 3 $1/1 GE light bulb Q used 2 $.25/1 Gain dish detergent Q $11.26 OOP and got back $6 UP.
Dollar General Gain fabric softner, it was $3.75 at my local store used 2 $3/1 Q from todays paper so only paid $.75 each. I am happy with it. Plus I needed softner.

Ronzoni Garden Delights are also on sale at the Jewel/Albertsons for $1.00, making them free. (Did that deal this morning, cooking some up now for lunch next week)
My last note on Wags Catalina and RR, that was my experience. You certainly can give it a try and argue the point...Maybe your store will see it differently? I tried and was less than successful. I did write to Wags, and did not receive a response of any sort. So, I really watch what I do there. (and darn it, the closest one to me is across the street about 10 houses down.)
Have a great day!

Barber Foods chicken products are very good. Make sure please you follow their directions, which I'm sure you will... DH thought you could microwave them. Not so much, um, NO. It was sweet he tried to start dinner. (Okay, he's great at many things, but he is cooking challenged.)

Mommyinmo - I forwarded the BTFE email to you. Meijer Gain - I was at Meijer briefly today - store was packed, so I didn't buy everything I needed. But here's a way to get free Gain detergent & softener. Looks like the small detergent is also $3.99. So I'm thinking of doing 2 transactions: Trans 1 2 x Softener $7.98 Less 2 Man Qs (6.00) OOP $1.98, get $3 OYNO (not sure if it rolls yet)
Trans 21 x Softener $3.99 1 x Detergent 3.99 Small filler (to use CAT from trans 1) Less softener Q (3.00) Less Detergent Q (1.00) Less CAT (3.00) OOP $1.xx (cost of filler may vary), get $3 OYNO
So the overage of transaction 1, will actually cover the $1 cost of transaction 2. Which makes for 3 softener & 1 detergent free!! Rinse & repeat. Gonna clip my Qs & head to Meijer tomorrow. I hate shopping when the store is so full.

Pubbler, when I was at Meijer yesterday, they had the Knorr sauce packets at $1.25, so $.25 after using the $.50 MQ. I'm planning on buying 2 Gain softeners like your transaction #1. Then I'll buy 3 dryer sheets @$3.99= $11.97- 9.00 Q's- 3.00 cat= $-.03, which I'll use the Knorr sauce for a filler. Rinse and repeat. ( I'm hoping this deal rolls. ) I'm on my last softerner and dryer sheets.

Two RA transactions today (2 stores) and 1 at Wags: #1RA 2 Dove deos $4 (store 1 only had 2--there were @ 20 yesterday so I must have a "gleaner" too!) 2 Lays Stax $3 3 Hormel Chili $4.50 (will donate to food pantry) 2 GE CFL bulbs $5.98 2 Colgate Sensitive $7.00 1 Theraflu 24 caplets $4.99 1 Maalox $4.99 Used: $4/20 VV q; $2 Theraflu q (thanks frugalsuz), 2/$1 Colgate q's; 2/$2 dove deo q's; 1/$1.50 WYB3 Hormel q; 1 .50 Hormel VVq; 2/$1 GE CFL q's; $15 UP's (had to use before 2/19) OOP: $2.47 (.21 = $2.26 tax). Will submit for TMF Theraflu caplets: $4.99 rebate; received $20 UP's. Trans.#2 2 Butter finger snackerz .79 ea w/10% discount; -$1.00/2 IP 2 Dove deos $4 -2/$2 q's 6 Lays STAX $9 1 Colgate sensitive toothpaste $3.50 -$1.00 q -$12 UPs OOP .71 (.08 +.63 tax) Rec'd $11.50 UP's WAGS 1 Neurogen $14.99 3 Quaker Oats $4.50 (I wanted to buy 5 but they only had 3) -$10 Neurogen q -3/$1 Quaker Oats q's OOP $7.75 ($6.49 + 1.26 tax) Rec'd $10 RR for Neurogen and $1 RR for Quaker Oats. The Quaker Oats is an unadvertised RR for today only. I would have gotten a $3 RR if I'd been able to buy 5. Oh well...I love Quaker Oats so they won't go to waste and I'll donate one along with the Neurogen. I'm going to use the $10 Neurogen for the 3/$10 Olay Body Wash and get a $3 RR back. I was thinking of using the Olay q's in the last P&G where you get free moisturizer for buying body wash, but the least expensive moisturizer is $8.99 and the max value of the q is $6. So, I'd have to spend $9 OOP. Not bad for 3 body wash and 3 Olay mositurizers but I guess I'm just getting too "houndy"! Still have a $3 UP that I have to spend by 2/19! A nice problem to have.
