Good thing I was able to sneak over to Kadee's stall and pick up two handfuls of magic oats from the supply she "borroed" from 'Ole Blue and fed it to CGA during the afternoon race siesta. Maybe some pixie dust got mixed in. I am shocked at the boost obtained. Totally unexpected. Must be true magic in those oats.

Congratulations, VB, it was a lulu! Nice pick! And kadee hung right in there, 3 lengths back, in Place after her big move yesterday, which added some competition. Seems the two ran away from the field, with 2&10 back leading the pack. Time to bathe the horses and get a new race entry ready for next week.

Congrats VB! Good run this week...with surprises, good surprises! Thanks Mod!
Uncle, what did you do? You stole my place & shoved me close to the top!
Blue, see what happens when you don't clean up the mess your horse makes!!! My garden evidently liked those road apples! ;D

It may be time for me to sell all that old jewelry I don't wear any more??? I'll have to check the other gold prices first. Used to be in the jewelry business so I have some bad news for you re: selling gold. The price you see on the stock market is not the price you'll get for the jewelry. First of all, the gold is only 14 kt or 18kt, 24 kt in pure gold. So factor that in. Second, most of the cost of the piece initially is labor / profit. And that doesn't count when they are going to melt it down. Finally, they do not pay full value when they are going to melt it down. Better off to try to take it to a reseller or just keep it in the drawer. Someone in the family might eventually want it for sentimental value Thanks for your concern Ombud. I have already given the really good stuff to my granddaughter...anything that might have sentimental value. I have several settings with no stones and then I have some stuff that is just soooo out of date, no one would want it. I also have a pair of really old screw on earrings that are either 20 or 24kt...really soft and they have real pearls in them...good pearls. Haven't decided whether to get rid of those yet or not. I do/did realize all the other, but if I know what the 24kt is selling for on the commodities...it can give me a spot to dicker with someone about what I get for my mess. I have a lot more silver than I do gold too...I prefer the silver...I like it better on me than the yellow...but I could be talked into white gold! ;D I gave my white gold to GD.

LULU was a heck of a pick. The way clothing retailers have been beating earnings and climbing on good news, made it a fairly "good" pick Remember, I was torn between LULU and Kroger. LULU went wild, on good earnings, whereas Kroger was a dog this week and down on good earnings. Go figure. Now onto next week-usually if I do fairly good one week, I crash the next week. Hubris can getcha
